how to set time and place? Bro i tried to organise so many time but in the end all fail to turn up. :sian:

Lets go for our dim sum again le :sian:

 

wan to go perling this sat morning for dim sum + little ride around perhaps mersing or jus holand away? :D

i supposed to hold a diy session de but no one get back to me on their interest... if no one, then let's ride... wan bo? :D

Hello guys, it's been a long time since I came to this thread.

 

My FZ1S is just over a year old and had hit 30K km odd, though I am sure most of you guys have shattered this mileage by a long shot within the same time frame. :)

Give a few more months, and the valve clearance will have to be done, probably at Planet. :)

 

Anything to look out for given the rather heavy mileage of the bike? When do you guys refresh the forks/ shocks and other itsy bitsy stuff? thanks!

Ya, u better save up for new suspension soon, haha...

 

But overall it's a good bike lah. Except for the stock screen.

Gave me neck pain when touring. :|

suspensions are best serviced within a 12-18mth interval. new seals, oil for maximum performance.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

I went to Bikeworkz and got my brakes done this weekend. Thanks a lot to @superspeed123 (Frank) for coming along and introducing me. Have to say I'm quite happy with the price as well as service - both in terms of thoroughness of work (from what I could see) and friendly attitude. Thanks bro! :thumb:

 

Also good to see the mention of valve clearance, timing, etc... I've been meaning to do that on my bike as well, it's kinda overdue (40k miles now). $208 sounds like a great deal for Meng Tong's work - do I need to make an advance appointment? And are they open on public holidays... maybe I could go there tomorrow?

You need to make an advance appointment with Meng Tong and ask him when he is free to do your bike. They are close on all public holidays.

...haha many madmen around here...anyway someone just talked to me about getting Ohlins next week,maybe if you'll get it together they'll give a better price?

sun had to go back camp lei bro... :(

but next sun there might be a little trip to dim sum for morning (remember the place i point to u that day?) and after that ride up to mersing or any holand place till noon then hit back... tbc by mid next week... :)

Guess I more or less will be cutting down on trips already. Have to wait for the touring bug to bite again. ;)

 

But on those trips I've taken so far, the stock wind screen posed the biggest problem, other than the hard seat.

Not keen to change the screen, cos the stickers on my windscreen hard to find and replace!!! haha...
