Just had a few rounds of test. It's engine died not blackout.

Yea Ure right, engine will die when clutching in and dropping gear at the same time..

Hm, think it's not my riding patterns..initially i planned to drop gear quickly from 100 to stop..halfway through died...the next round drop gear slowly also engine died..grrr~~

shouldn't be happening at all. definitely bike issue.

engine die-ed + speedo blank out? or just engine die-ed?

when you do engine braking, clutch in + drop gear + clutch out. your rpm will shoot up abit than where you left it, so chances of too low an idling is ruled out.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

Best bet is to check with Hong Leong. The TPS of older models is known to be problematic. Engine will die when decelerating or when u play with the throttle while stationary.

Hm, i think I would bring to bikeshop and spray loads of GT85 to the TPS and see whether any improvement. Thaks for pointing it out.:)

Few years ago, there are a recall for TPS problems. At that time, HL offers free TPS replacement. The TPS replacement will cost around $120+ otherwise. Do check with them what is your actual problem. They are able to diagnose the condition of TPS using your meter.

hey guys. anyone done heat wraps for their headers? cos i am considering an fz6 with heat wraps on but from what i've gathered from the net, heat wraps result in rusting of the headers. So im not sure whether the bikes header's have already been rusted out or corroded already, since the wrap is still on and i cant see the true condition of the headers. would appreciate advice!

i wouldnt do heat wraps.. dont see how beneficial it is to the health of the bike. but i am aware of you put it, over time water is absorbed by the wraps, your headers will rust.

yea im skeptical about their benefits and aware of their cons too. but the problem im facing now is that this bike that im planning to get has the wraps on. If the headers have not rusted yet i can just remove the wraps but i cant tell whether rust has already occurred with the wraps on
