nice.. you just use a normal cloth to polish?

hey kevin, no offense hor, jus a little sharing session, i was actually having this mindset to myself since day 1 when i ride my this fz1 out, to my opinion, since one person get a liter bike, he should be well prepared that it will not be of any fuel efficient already...

so all those methods to try to make ur liter bike to be able to run as long distance as possible are kinda waste of time to me... cus so much things u do, u only can save that little bit more of mileage... u simply just be able to save that 10km or 20km than others only... give me blink blink i past that 10km or 20km mark liao... no point right? :)

i believed i shared this with edwin many months back during some chill out sessions out there... cheers!

for me, my worse mileage is like 10.27km/L (around 150km for the main tank of 14.6L) to the best mileage if my right hand is not itchy, is 16.44km/L (around 240km for the main tank of 14.6L)... the setup of both mileages is the same fyi... i guess u had my dyno graph, u should know my dyno is built towards which... hahaha...

There are many litre or bigger capacity bike that has better FC then ours. Our litre bike is considered one of the few that suck a lot of petrol especially so is a FI. It is always a curiosity to find out or even to compare how good or bad the consumption was & what caused it so to better anticipate the next fuel stop. Is the frequency of fuel stop that matters sometimes. You may be can simply blink blink, but others care.

u see kevin, u did so much and get only 16.54km/L but not as torquey as it can be...

mine, 16.44km/L, which is around 240km (GPS mileage) for 14.6L, 6.9% calibrated... on our usual speedo, it's 256.56km for 14.6L... isn't it the same as yours?

maybe it's to each difference la... different people would like their machine to work differently for them... i hope all these stuffs you did will serve you well...

got time, come out for LKS perhaps and we could discuss more about these... cheers! :)

yup... no special cloth needed... i use my old army towel, cut into smaller pieces... :)

Not recommended the old army towel is too abrasive, first couple of time you may not see it, as more frequent you will see the tiny scratches line.

i use a soft cotton cloth to polish, when the headers are still hot after a ride. lol. its easier to polish when the headers are hot. for those reading this, pls do it at your own discretion. i fold the cloth a few times to prevent my finger from getting burnt.

it's ok for me... i purposely choose to use that towel is because of its abrasiveness... it will do some good to what you need it to be...

tiny scratches or not on the headers, who knows for now... as long u not using it on fairings or windscreens will do... right? :)

It's truly value for $$$ stuff. :D

I just tried the Meguiar's EZ CLEAN SPRAY & RINSE which I bought recently.

Not bad, cleans the FZ1 well and leaves a good clean look/ shine, but exp at $16 a bottle.

I find the meguiar's range of stuff quite good, but sometimes hard to find.

Strangely enough, my bike, stock pipe with header cat removed, and airbox cut open, gets 230km to 250km till reserve.

It's mostly 230km. But I do get the odd 250km from time to time. Most notably the last 2 topups.

I can't explain why either. I keep it to 4 - 5K rpm on local roads mainly.

On the other hand, when I do get naughty and do a little throttle masturbation, it could drop to 210 @ reserve, most notably North of Chinapore.

just to share too... personal opinion... broquet has no effect on new bikes or relatively new bikes of the first few years... also broquet has no effect on higher octane petrols... i used it on my previous bike... to me, it's like waste of monie...
