Where to get plain transparent decal for road tax disc? Hope it's big enough to cover the fuel tank cap.

yes.. once ur NCD is transferred from ur old bike (old insurance policy) to ur new bike (new insurance policy), u will receive/pay the difference..

Thanks for yr reply...

when u open e fuel cover To pump fuel, there i rust in and around.

Car decal yuh. I didnt use this method but e others say is ok. I ve tank bra so i think cant stick for me.

For e insurance quite, i thought e quote includes e ncd. Or is it different e way insurance companies and shops quite.

Remember i did e online quote request from ntuc? If ncd was not factor in, i wouldnt ve realise tt it was cheaper to do direct.

How do u clean up the rust in the fuel cover?

I think shops quote insurance without taking yr NCD into consideration and their prices are also marked up slightly. They usually only ask what's yr age and calculate for u based on the bike that u want. If get direct quote from insurance company, think they can quote u a price after deducting NCD.

@hilfinger. If u driver or parents, frens. Just ask them go their car service place and ask. Ask for e biggest lo. E small ones i think justttttr nice.

For cleaning of rust. Will ask shop do. If chain rust also ask shop do. Lol.

For e insurance, my case was special. Anyway when they do quite will include ncd becoz ncd is shared centrally and not by individual companies.

In my case, i got my insurance 4 day before my bday. Then my online quite was after bday. So insurance ve this point system to calculate e premium. Of coz age is in e formula. Just so nice my age before and after bday belong to different age grp thus e 100 discount.

Anyway after all e ding dong, ntuc send a mail to my agent saying "ntuc will be doing a policy change for the policy holder internally. E policy holder do not need to cancel and register a new policy. Pls note tat this is a one off service and should be used as a future example".

Lol.

Hi guys,

I've a qn to ask...

I'm trading in my present bike and getting a 2nd-hand fz1 from a shop. I'm quoted 800 plus for my fz1 insurance, which I think is without factoring in my NCD.

So when I cancel my insurance for present bike and transfer my NCD to new bike (fz1), does that mean the shop will refund me the difference since my fz1 insurance will be less than 800 plus?

the insurance company will refund u. for mine, my insurance 1.5k fz1 third party. 23 this year. i had a 10% ncd and the refund was done by the insurance company.

I always ve light rust on my chain after rain and i ve scottoiler installed. Funny thing is i just carry riding and e rust will go away which is y i say is "light rust". I think becoz i daily use my fz thus e rust no chance to bite into e chain. So now got additional use for scottoiler. ^^

btw i just did a ugly custom mod for my bike. After last "night", i also wanted to do like charles, edwin and white fazer e cover for fuel tank cover.

E next thing i wish to do is to go beg for extra leftover leathers from maybe those shops tat do leather seat. Then bring to those repair clothes shop to ask them help cut and sew. Finally custom a mechanism to hold e leather to my tank bra and also be able to quick release. ^^

may i know where did u get ur IU unit holder from? mine make a lot of noise when i was travelling 120-130km/h

Completed my diy fuel cover. Total cost 11$. 5 for e sewing and cutting. 6 for e 3m velcro and dbl side tape. Leather piece was free. (not nice to reveal sources)

I still need to touch up abit as e velcro 3m not enough. $6 for a short strip only. ._. so going to buy 3m dbl side tape and i ve Velcro. Will cost another $5.

Went to check price if do at shop. Eugene's saddle and lightning bike (both shop near to each other). Both charge $30 and ve to leave tank bra there.

For my diy if anyone is interested, it is possible to be cheaper. Assuming leather piece is free.

U need to cut/sew e leather. (possible to do urself or get gf/wife help). Buy cheapo velcro from tailor shop or any shop tat does clothes amendment. $2 can get u a long strip. Get dbl tape of ur choice, i think i will stick to 3m.

Spend about half day to go find free leather. (can be 1 hr if u noe where and dun side track. I took half day becoz ran other errands) then half hr get tailor do. Finally half hr to tape to tank bra. Can finish in 3hr and cost between $7 to $15. ^^ and best is u can immediately use instead of next day. No need extra trip to collect also.

Hi can I seek some opinions concerning racks and cases.

I'm more or less confirmed on fixing a toprack and a topcase. And i would like to have a big topcase like the Givi E52 or Trekker 52 (is it available?). Actually like the H&B Xplorer topcase but the biggest is only 45L.

I saw the SW-Motech toprack on the web and it looks quite neat and nice. And advantage is can fit diff brands of cases on it but have to buy adapter plates. Was thinking if next time change from Givi to H&B topcase, no need to change toprack. Am i right to say all these? Can someone recommend a gd place to install sw-motech toprack and buy Givi topcase as well as the adapter plate? Btw, what's the approx price of these items...don't wish to get chopped...I read somewhere abt safety locks for boxes, do i need to get them for my topcase? Is it to prevent box from being detached from rack?

trekker series is available already.. but v exp..

h&b now have more than 45L.. try checking the latest catalog out..

yes u r right to say..

currently, local dealer for sw-motech is chiap lee.. u should be able to get everything done there..

biketech21 is the previous local dealer.. but dun bother even asking them if they provide installation or not.. hahaha..

else, u can DIY urself if u dun trust their handi-works..

dun go get these racks & stuffs via online, u will be paying more than what u can get locally due to shipping charges..

lastly, i nvr heard of any kind of safety locks for boxes.. perhaps u could provide more information.. :)

I read abt the safety locks from the sales threads below...

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/333889-Hepco-amp-Becker-Junior-45L-Top-Box-With-Baseplate-for-SALE!?

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/344074-Fazer-FZ!S-06-onwards-Windscreen-Tank-Bra-Brake-Pads-SW-Motech-Side-Racks?

So i also wonder what are they really for...

For Chiap Lee, should i go to the one at Serangoon Rd or Jln Besar? For biketech21, why dun bother even asking for installation?

Thanks pichudot for yr info, u've been v helpful. :thumb:
