i bought rxz head for $35 at ah boy but hafta pay $25 to fix at another shop in bbatok. =/

a week after fixing, i receive lta lettter needa go inspection. sibeh sian.

That time i do quite abit of things at one of the bike shop in sin ming.. so think they jus add a labour charge of mayb 30? something like that.. Anyway, the rxz head no issue during inspection..

 

just got my bike back from Racewerks (read previous post on petrol leakage..)

 

Things i have done,

Change engine oil (2 bottles)

Change oil filter

Spark plug X 2

Welding of tank

Tyres Rear (alamak, tell them change both.. they change rear only, maybe they feel front one still ok.. )

Bike shop send for inspection (STA ~ overall pass, but footrest fail? WTF??)

Renew road tax

 

icearmour, i did not manage to change the what ring at gasket there.. mech say no stock..

 

Tank was send for welding, and welder claim is a common issue among comet..? Did anyone here have such problem?

Saw 1 at the shop beside southern motors. Ugly paintwork but should be selling for very low price. I'm guessing ard 2k if you bargain hard enough.

So far, last year, self inpection, overall passed, they didnt say anything..

 

This year, bike shop help send for inspection(me too lazy), overall passed also.. but visual items they ticked fail for my footrest..(wtf)..

Usually about 1 month before the road tax expire, LTA will send u a letter to go for inspection.. Upon receiving the letter, u can go to any inspection centre of ur choice but before "expiry date"...

 

If can, do it yourself la.. last that i remember, i ride there, got sign directing which way to go for motorcycle. "reach" already, no one at all.. then i ask around for ppl to help... finally found the counter, say i wanna inspection for bike, paid about $18? go outside wait again.. then some guy came and took over, i just sit and watch loh... test this and that...etc... passed liao, they will print out some cert and give u.. with the cert, take and go renew road tax...

 

but this is based on my one time experience.. so not sure if it is the same everywhere..

 

Bike shop wise.. simple.. Give a call or ride there.. got help send bike for inspection and renew road tax? how much? how long? If everything ok, just leave it to the bike shop loh..

 

Anyway... more info, do a search in SBF, got ppl start thread before.. urs is in July la... still got awhile more.. so chill and relax ah..

tis time for me to go to inspection also...well my brake and clutch levers are chipped of at the sites..then one of the leg rest is already bend...my p plate at the back flew away or got stolen....the petrol indicator does not show correctly at certain random times...chain is a bit loose...insurance goin to expire in june...and also alien headlights...

 

so wat all do ya guys thing have to get fixed to get a pass...

I am not sure how needs to be fix to get a pass, but for sure is they wont check the petrol indicator..

 

Anyway, petrol indicator not totally accurate, becos normally tank is irregular shape ma.. If urs show empty when full and vice versa, then really something wrong...

yea.. my brake and clutch lever broken at the sides oso.. is that common? and my fuel indicator shows empty when filled but after riding for sometime it goes back to normal.. and my plate at the back cant stick and flew away or lost alrdy..

Eh... should be quite common la, seen a few other bike like that.. the end of my brake lever is not broken but bend... weird..

 

Usually after fill up, it will take a few seconds for the indicator to "rise" to full level..

 

The plate u refering too should be P plate.. which part u stick? near the registration plate? If so, imagine the amount of dirt, oil, water fling off ur rear tire and onto the plate.. in the past, my p plate was screw onto my registration plate..

u can ask the auntie help u do. must pay afew bucks. if u wanna diy. its quite troublesome. too me some time to cut out the shape and pasting it is not easy either.. haha

i havent tried removing it. you can try to peel it off when the exhaust is warm (not hot) and abit of cleaning up should be fine.

 

thats what the auntie told me about removing it
