there r no magical lock/unlock for mechanical gears.

magical word use is to confuse ppl who don't understand the principle of mechanic.

speed is limited = engine rpm X gears ratio X sprockets ratio X circumference of rear wheel.

to achieve higher top speed:

1) change sprocket ratio

original is 14t/42t thus using 14t/35t increase the top speed but affects acceleration (pickup).

but why change rear sprocket which is more expensive than simplity change front sprocket to 15t to achieve it n it is cheaper too.

what i meant is u should use 15t/42t (0.357) or 14t/40t (0.35) sprockets instead of 14t/35t (0.4).

2) change rear type size.

original size is 140/60, by changing to size 140/70, tyre wall height difference is 14mm extra.

what this meant is bigger circumference = higher top speed.

original top speed = 110kph@10,000rpm, change either 1 or 2 will achieve top speed of up to 120kph@10,000rpm but the trade off is acceleration (pickup).

dear uncle soh,

fyi, i try all the sprocket combination u give me but my rw still run at 110km@

my rear tyre now is 120/70. Use 140/70 before mod (top speed still the same while acceleration is bad).

Nazri_Port Dickson => after mod done to my engine (i.e change piston to a bigger one, change carb etc)

what kind of bigger piston have you put inside ? size ? diameter ?, have you modified your cylinder too ?

ok thanks for carb informations. to you know the diameter venturi of this carb ? TZM is a 4 strokes bikes ?

(i have try a 30mm but it is to bigger, maybe 26 or 28mm is good)

bro my piston is 70.50mm.

Yamaha TZM is 2 strokes bike.

i did some nsh riding b4, top speed only managed 100kph due largely to very strong head-wind n up/downslope highways.

sillypore have mostly level roads/expressways n not much wind resistance so easy to speed up to 110kph or 120kph with downslope.

even downslope also 110kph. once i tried "superman" on my bike, still 110kph. tat'w why i did the mod becoz cannot stand smaller bike pass me with a smile (u know wat i mean).

Hello Everybody!

I just got my RW about a week ago.

Very comfy ride except for a few problems.

Firstly its damn bloody hard to engage first gear.

I have to really kick down damn hard to get in 1st gear.

I read in the manual you're not suppose to kick it hard. But i have no choice.

Uncle Soh, is it really due to the engine oil?

How bad is Castrol R4?

Secondly, theres this like sqeaky sound when i'm free wheeling. Even when i'm pushing my bike sounds like theres a little mouse in my rear brake disc. Weird.

Thirdly, my biting point is damn bloody far. I heard just need some minor adjustments here and there, but im quite scared to fiddle around.

Lastly, just 2 general enquiries. What petrol serves RW best? The guy at the kiosk told me its all the same. But then again i bet he doesnt know nothing about RW.

Does anybody know where i can fix those side boxes to my RW?

Thanks!

anione can help me setting my roadwin125..... more faster,power........

One of my friend's Roadwin came with a hollowed-out pipe. Performance-wise, either it was placebo; or my friend really enjoyed his RW's responsiveness. The only drawback is that it kept doing mini-backfires when decelerating.

Of course, there's a way to transform your bike into an RW150. Yep, I kid you not.

A way to transform RW 125cc to 150cc ??????

What is this way ??

Do you know where i can bye cylinder 150cc and piston by the web ?

thx

Internet, yep but I'm not so sure where the webbies are.

My friend told me that where he did maintenance on his RW, the boss actually showed him a 150cc engine cylinder block and its matching piston.

Yep, shops can do that mod for you. I'm not going to divulge any information here because...you know, the men-in-white-on-the-road are also browsing this forum too.

Hey, sorry off topic. It's been a while since i post. Don't know if you guys know about this, but go to http://www.bikepics.com and search for daelim. click on roadwin and click 2007.

http://www.bikepics.com/pictures/843732/

ithis is one of the link. don't know if it's clickable.

It seems like rw has fairings now. and it doesn't look custom.

Sweet...

Don't know whether this kind of bike would pierce through the bike market in SG. This bike have received lukewarm response here in SG though...

the problem here with roadwin is, students who jus passed 2b wants a fast bike. and you can't get tt from rw. even some rw riders wants their bike to go faster.the fact tt it can't. maybe 10km more. i use to think tt way when i jus got it 1 year ago. wan fast fast.

it just seem that roadwin is missing a gear.(the 6th gear.) however, ppl who down grade their bike is happy with rw.plainly cause they don't seek speed. jus put it this way, if rw has the fairing on, and can go faster.(let's say 140km/h) without the engine feeling like it's gonna go, the bike will be hot.:cheer:
