use EO 20w-50 VI grade for air/oil cool engine.

or 10w-50, 15w-50, these r all 50 VI when it is at engine operating temperature.

first digital is for winter (w), it means the vicosity index (VI) below zero degree.

try motul, redline, amsoil, fuchs silkolene, royal purple.......full synthethic.

my preference is royal purple max-cycle 20w-50 eo.

5w-30 eo is too thin in vi, these r normally for car use.

their engine rpm r low n max out at 5~6k rpm.

10w-40 eo for watercool engine, watercool more efficient in cooling down engine.

if u use semi or mineral eo, eo will breakdown fast n your engine will run rough.

gearshifting will be notchy n hard to shift.

really nice! i saw one other guy riding a s4 change his headlight to those like the street triple oso. the bare looks is a bit funny, but like wad stsoh suggested, adding the windshield looks good! but i like ur meter n headlight!!! great mod!

yes, u can use 10w-40 grade eo.

it's thinner vi, your engine will run a bit rougher.

main additive in motorcycle eo is 'zddp'.

it's an anti-wear agent replaced with anti-friction ingredient.

main reason replacement is zddp will cause damage to catalyst converter in car.

btw any1 have difficulty to start engine when its cold ?? It required some effort to start le.... atleast 3-4 time...

try switch on the choke n turn open the throttle 1/8 turn, hold it there then press the start button.

sometime idling speed too low will have difficulty start up it the morning.

it should set at 1400~1600 rpm when engine is hot.

or u try can loosen pilot-screw by 1/4 turn.

I've been riding rw for a couple of mnths n find it quite good n suits me....Juz one issue if anyone can help me, my tail light always spoil n every mnth I have to change the bulb. I told the mech in CKA and they did an wire extension for me coz of weak batt they said but to no avail. I still face the same prob... can anyone help me?

maybe it's not the wiring problem but the bulb holder socket contacts.

vibration contacts too close or loosen touches coz a short.

my taillight bulb is good for few yrs, haven't change since new (5 yrs).

my pilot-light bulb used to burnt in six months.

after i replaced bulb n re-stack wire n straighten-up holder wires.

if twisted might be shock at wire contact point, no problem since.

I would like to welcome myself to the group. I've just sealed a deal for a 2nd hand x5 FZ at CKA. Bike will be ready by friday. Roy was very nice to talk to.

Thanks a lot to stsoh for his time and patience in answering my queries. Thanks to nights also for some words of reassurance.

SBF ROCKS!!

p.s. please don't ask me the price, you all know CKA has a high price but comes with good service and warranty and freebies...

anyone mode their intake b4?

i use a self-mod DIY KnN air-filter for a Go-kart engine.

have cut-out top, trim-bottom n glue a top cap to almost the same size as original filter.

u have to be innovative, have time to search for a suitable size, plus money (credit cards/paypal).

a wrong cut can destroy the expensive knn filter (high-flow).

it didn't make any performance differences n cost five times more expensive than oem filter (disposable paper element type).

even though it can be re-use throughout the bike life time, u still need to clean n re-oil every 30,000 to 50,000 miles (50,000 to 80,000 km).

cleaning kit cost extra, almost a new oem air-filter.

knn air-filter recommended to clean n re-oil up to five times, after tat have to replace it.

I got to bargain a few and a few more were thrown in by Roy. When I first saw the bike last week it was still under their servicing and really really naked, haha! Told them to give me a call once it was finished, that happened last night...I heard its engine roar compared to the 125 which was parked beside it, loved it (except for original blue color), and sealed the deal. Maybe you got it at a lower price than mine so it's almost the same probably.

Thanks for the welcome!

Now that i got the bike, I'm going down to Chong Aik Serangoon tonight to go get me a good helmet...and gloves...and stickers perhaps...and helmet bag...and.......scary $$$!

just make sure u got those helmets with approval sticker on it.

it's for use in sillypore, those dun have r for export even tho has snell or dot std.

approval sticker is normally stick at the lower back of the helmet.

un-approved helmet, u can get fine for wear it.

will do, bro. CKA gave me one (which i'll give to my wife) with sticker stuck "inside" the shell of the helmet. Is that ok?

as long as there is an approval sticker.

most of the time traffic police won't check but if they r moody n finding faults.

it is under the traffic act regulations, tp can issue a fine.
