yup..consulted. 3 of the bushes have worn off and the screw is lose which makes the sprocket lose so he assumes the shaking is caused by it..sending it for repair soon..hope my bike gets better :)

stuff like at low speeds, what rpm i should be at... any other maintence issues other then oil change... at which point am i pushing the bike too hard... and how long to avoid leaving the bike parked.

im sorry if these are repeat questions but u got almost 150 pages of post!

o and i used to ride rs125 replica... so it would help if anyone who also used to ride aprilia, could help me compare DOs and DONTs between the bikes....

welcome donhxw to rw thread.

do follow the owner's manual maintenance schedule, your bike will be in tip top conditions.

different riders have different preference in riding......just dun redline too often.

some like to speed, some dun.

some like to shift gear at high rpm, some dun.

i usually gearshift at 4~5k rpm but some do like to shift gear at 6k rpm.

normal ride at expressway @ 100kph, rw max is 110kph won't stress the bike but will vib more.

normal road, u can ride at 60~70kph. do note speedometer has 10% error.

park your bike under hot sun is not advisable, do cover it up with canvas or park in mscp.

thx stsoh, that actually helps alot.

was worried i'd push the bike beyond its limits.

been reading thru the past posts and they've been very helpful.

i was informed by cka that my silencer has been mod by prev owner. the sound it gives off is quite... ... noisy... almost liken to a scrambler

i dont really mind the noise, and was told that the mod itself was expensive to do.

but what i'm concerned about is, is it legal

i've had quite a few brushes with our men in white and i dont wanna soil my hands again.

i've asked cka bb bout it but their answers were not really clear. they didnt say yes or no, but only said that tp wouldnt really check on it.

sorry stsoh, but could u help me out here/

im currently serving my national service and its kinda hard to commute to cka hq just to enquire bout this.

definitely not legal. if i remember correctly, the fine is $700 if caught. But most of the time, TP just ignores unless you attract their attention with certain style of riding. The only troublesome issue is during annual inspection. Might not pass the test. :thumb:

u dun have to worry, 4-strokers r much less noisy than 2-strokers.

i remove my muffler db silencer, it's a bit noisier than stock.

during annual bike inspection, no problem passed inspection, db check is below 85 decibel.

if your muffler is a pole-thru-hole, it's louder but still it is below 90 decibel.

4-strokers r not nuisance as 2-strokers, as u ride away the sound soften n fade away.

2-strokers will just scre.......amers, loud n annoying.

do enjoy your ride, dun worry too much.

you won't break the law tat easy with rw.

even if you speed at 100kph shown on speedometer,

your actual speed is 90kph, within expressway speed limit.

thx guys. i actually just got back my license after getting revoked for speeding in 2008. lesson learnt.

since its not legal, i think i gonna ask alex if he could change the muffler back to stock. dont wanna risk anything happening to my license again.

sensitive question, is cka hq the only cka thats trusted by the majority here/

been reading thru the various bike forums in sg and notice that the bb n tg branch have customers complaining bout their service n prices.

once again thx to everyone for their input n patiences.

hey guys, i've been reading this thread for a while now, but this is my first post. i have a roadwin, great bike, a bit slow but i like it.

i was wondering if any of you fellow roadwin owners can give me some advise on my front brakes. recently, they seized up when i was pressing them in. so now, my front wheels are stuck. have any of you encountered this before? does CKA have a towing service since i can't ride my bike there now? or can a jammed brake be fixed on my own?

thanks for your help guys

try spray wd40 at the brake caliper pistons and use the plastic end of a screw driver tap on the caliper to work it loose.

do not spray wd40 at the pads or the rotor disc.

over time dirt from the micro worn pad dust, road grim n rust makes the piston jammed.

best is do maintenance very two years as stated in maintenance schedule.

do not wait till problem arises.
