thx

just found out, my spark plug thread all gone.... now need to re thread.... cost ard 180.... $$$ fly....... hahaha

how did it happen??

cross-thread or thread gave-way??

general practice is to use hand to turn spark plug into the threaded hole then screw-driver extension to tighten.

if the first thread is crossed, do not use force to tighten.

still use hand to turn until it is able to thread in correctly.

if mech didn't do anything to carb, it can be the carb's accelerator cam cable adjustment not set to max or overly maximized.

when overly maximized, it will restrict/limit the throttle valve opening.

optimum setting should be both in parallel - throttle valve (non-adjustable) n accelerator cam (adjustable) cables.

witness two accidents in a month, r sillyporean drivers so bad?

both happens at traffic junction where green arrow blinking for vehicle to turn right n ramped by those on the straight road.

it's not the first vehicle tat got hit, it's the second or third.

be careful even u have rightful way to turn, those blind b.a.s.t.a.r.d dun care.

ya agree.. nowadays alot of funny2 driver...

similar experience just now.... was going straight, a van infront was turing left to turn into the carpark...

theres a car oposite direction, turing to the same entrance...

i was going straight, suddenly the car turn to the carpark... i ebrake and gave a loud horn... he can still slow down, as if he is right......

and ya, next week will do my removal of silencer....

will remove the rivet, and take it out...

but instead of rivet it back, maybe i will be taping it and use screws... see how it goes....

i feel like removing the sliencer too!

but the rivets are preventing me from doing it.

if tapping is possible i will remove the sliencer! put it back when inspection is needed :cheeky:

flange's thickness on the muffler is thin, my estimate is around 1 mm thick.

not advisable to use bolts unless u have anchor nut.

u can try wood screws, it won't be very secure.

best is to rivet it back.

i brought a set of rivet gun with variety size of rivets for S$12 at DIY shop.

it's simple n easy if u r the handyman type.

u can ask cka to do it for u.

i have seen them remove daystar db silencer n rivet it back when it's tail corroded.

dun know why they r reluctant to do it for roadwin.

punching a hole thru the baffler is much laborious.

it's not difficult, maybe they wanted to sell more of aftermarket muffler.

or if they dun have the rivet size, u can buy them at any DIY shop.

i think rivet size is 3/16" X 1/2" length (length can be longer), cost

no problem passing inspection.

im more afraid of drilling the rivets off than actually riveting it back :cheeky:

my sliencer is rusty to the max. will it affect the rest of the parts in a long run ?

been that way since i bought it !:dot:

shall ask my dad about the rivet stuff !

thanks alot !

why dun u riding for another yr n upgrade to class2.

save ur money for a litre bike like fz1, cb1r or z1000.

dun know why i dun like 400cc bike, it doesn't seem to attract me.

it can be exciting for newbie to upgrade to cl2a.

but cl2 liter bike r much much more fun n thrilling to ride.

cl2b 4-strokes naked bike - 10~16hp

cl2a 4-strokes naked bike - 40~52hp

cl2 4-strokes naked bike - 100~130hp

cl2 litre sportbike - >150hp.

hmm.. cos i go up north often.. and our max top speed is 100-+ even with mods.. :sian:

+ lots of vibrations = uncomfortable ride.. usually gotta ride for an hr or so to reach the destination.. but cant deny its a problem free and cheap maintainence bike.

there r many tour bikes like st1100, kawa1400, vstrom1k, etc, much suited for tour riding.

rw is not a tour bike, more for city ride.

nsh long stretch of highway, lots of head wind, many hilly crests.

seldom see cups on nsh coz cross wind can blown them off the highway if they speed.

seen many sillyporean on krr or nsp speeding n they didn't check wind socks along the nsh.

some will crash becoz of cross winds, they wun know wat hit them.

rw is heavy n quite safe, doesn't shake or drift one side from cross winds.

+ lots of vibrations = uncomfortable ride..

pro = kept u awake on a long distance ride.

update:

just had my silencer remove just now.... its now sounding loud... very loud, like those x1r on those abm pipe...

i not sure if the previos owner had knock through the baffel or not, but seems like theres extra hole....

and yeap, my cover plate is now secured by nuts, as i had manage to tap it using size m6.....

ripping out the silencer was a problem, as carbon deposite have since gather since 2004...

will update the photos soon.....

yeah, did compared b4.

those with punch-hole baffle r louder with or without the db silencer.

it's like harley thru pipe, no baffling.

if possible try to patch those holes with wood pegs or weld metal plate to cover it.

original muffler has a side port tat allow gas to flow from one chamber to another,

the baffler acts as a sound damper when sound waves r bound back within the first chamber.

photos of the finish products....

i have forgoten to take the process...

stsoh, can we meet someday? hahaha...

want to check out ur exhaust sound, and to cofirm if mine is alrdy been poked through and want to hear the sound of not poked exhaust without silencer....

will take a vdeo of the sound soon...

yours look very new, my end cap have spots of rust.

u can see ugly hole(s) at the baffler if it is punched, unlike original side port (manufacture).

better to have spring washers n applied loctite thread locker for the end-cap securing bolts.
