buying from shop or from rider? If shop, it is acceptable. If person than i think it is a bit steep. Y dun you ask cka how much they selling their second hand RWs (include insurance) and compare with the buyer :goodluck:

v-twin engine advantages:

better torque at lower rpm=better start-off/pickup.

v-twin r smoother than single but still got complaints about v-twin's vibs.

tat's all i can think of for advantages. :cheeky:

disadvantages:

harder to balance twin carb.

behind cylinder always overheat (best v-engine r liquid cool type).

front plug always gets shorted (in suzuki sv models becos of design, lower front).

consume more oil/fuel (eg. yamaha fz150).

replacement come as a set of two plugs/pistons/rings/cams/heads/cylinders.

heavier than single engine.

tat's all i can think of for disadvantages. :cheeky:

thanks lah bro for the answer...

nice to hear from u again...

FZ150 fuel consuming meh? Its that naked old bike (round FK/FL) plate with the Super Sport Logo rite?

All i know is that bike can't chiong for nuts! Top speed is only 90kph ( top speed similar to Kymco Zing 150). My friend used to own one

Ask if need to refinance the loan? If need to then it is ex. If no need than it is a good buy if you plan to take installments coz if take a 3 yr loan on the bike at 5K at the shop directly, it would be more ex

means the shop will use the remaining COI value of the bike and recalculate the interest and monthly installments.

Some shops allow, some don't. You have to ask the shop first

getting there la....no need to buy kopi for them...u think this army officer/encik ah? Lolz!! Just be friendly so they recognise you enuf oredi la.

As for oil change, i'd rather change myself if you really want to save cost. Lan lan only have to send there for servicing so my warranty not void. After warranty can go do myself loh. Just sent the bike down for half yearly servicing or when you need parts replacement

Been using the 14/40 sproket for a bout 02 weeks now. Here are my views:-

Strong pick up especially when going up steep slopes on gear 1 compared to 15/40. Going up the steep highway slopes (e.g. CTE slope going towards city from the SLE filter) can be easily maintained on gear 5 while on the 15/40 setup, you will have to drop gear to maintain speed.

However, top speed still remains the same. In fact mine can only reach 110 now from the 120 kph on the 15/40 set up. I suspect it has something to do with the engine oil.

Can only managed @93 kph at 7500 rpms while hitting 100kph @ 8100-8200 rpms.

Managed to redline the engine with the setup but as mentioned earlier, unable to match top speed.

Gonna use back elf again on the next change....Or maybe Motul. Soh, maybe you can get a spare PurpleMax oil for me to try? :lovestruck:

Anybody know where still got sell the rw? Went down to CKA JE branch and they quote me $6.5k for the 125cc and $7.5k for the X5(140cc  )

Down payment is 20% of the bike price (but can less la.. installment pay more lor)

The worst thing is the interest rate is 7% per annual. :giddy:

Is this so-called carrot chopping?? HELP HELP :bouncefire: :bouncefire:

Actually, the gear ratio also affects the top speed and acceleration on your bike.

As you might have said, 14/40 only let u hit 93km/h. 15/40 let you hit 100km/h. i suppose it's this reading

If you try 16/40, you might be able to hit over 100km/h.

lowering the gear ratio (e.g from 15 drop to 14) would mean more acceleration but lesser top speed.

rising the gear ratio (e.g from 15 rise to 16) would mean more top speed and slower acceleration.

If you change the back sproket from 40 to 41, meaning getting a setting of 14/41, you can getting more acceleration and top speed will drop abit more.

If you change the sproket to a setting of 14/39 or 14/38, you will be able to get back some top speed.

It's nothing about the type of engine oil you use. Engine oil only let the engine run smoother but doesn't mean giving it more power.

(Try playing with the front and back gears of a bicycle and you might know wat i mean. :goodluck: :thumb: )

Actually engine oil does play a part. As I mentioned to Soh before, with Elf i can manage 100 kph@7200 rpms i never got that speed in that range using Castrol for almost 4 months before switching to Elf two months ago.

I was actually trying to compare the difference between Castrol & Elf. But since i had also changed the front sproket (it was free so what the heck!), now i have to recompare them again at the same sproket setup.

Also i believe our RW forumer from M'sia also replied that the 16/40 is good at x'ways but totally no pick up. Too bad he didn't give us an exact range though.

Wah roadwiniac, your bike theory good la... like veteran rider :cheer:

Anyway the price cka quoted is the market value of the bike. If u got uncle , or dad who rides, bring them along and bargain your hearts out. If the price won't budge, bargain for freebies like windshield, box and helmet (if can bargain for all!!) so at least you don't need to spend extra on accessories like some of us.

I bargain for free box and helmet. Some veteran riders even got original windshield to boot while others got prices like 6K for the OTR price of the bike :goodluck: :goodluck:

Thanks thanks :cheeky: all those are just basic knowledge  but higer gear ratios does consume more fuel and put more load on ya engine. So do consider thrice if anybody would wanna change to bigger front sproket. :goodluck:

Hmm.. engine oil part i do not know much.. but as i said above, i do believe it helps the engine to run smoother ^^,

Actually i am still learning my bike :cheeky: Practical 7.01 soon.. muahaha.. getting my licence and bike is so close yet so far
