have been using stainless steel header for the past week n find it's performance really s-u-c-k-s.

tried difference carb settings n still finds lack power at low-end, high FC n my top speed can't hit 110kph (saved me some speeding fine till today).

it's larger inner diameter 1 1/8 inch cause too much gases to escape.

i have not try this yet, possible solution is to weld a steel washer with 3/4 ~

ps: for those whom don't know wat is a "header" is: "header" is the exhaust pipe from engine to muffler.

Ha!!!!....No wonder my fuel consumption was high....kept thinking it was the 100 mainjet!!

But strange y u cannot hit 110? I still can hit 115 @ 9800 rpms even with my main jet 95.....maybe coz of my CDI plus the racing ignitor, uncle soh? But if i remember correctly, my rpm can never exceed 10000 rpms even if i switch to original sproket ratio after changing the header....tot it was normal....

I have to agree that the low end power really sucks though.....been so long that i've used the steel header that i've forgotten how the original exhaust feels like...good news is...with progress package money coming...can finally change back

Could it be due to the holes you drilled on your muffler that caused the gas to escape more? Plus the bigger header therefore even more escaped?

Jack did not have any holes drilled on muffler, do you?

my stainless steel header 1 1/8" inner dia. with washer restricter, still runs rich.

change from

mj#102, eclip on slot#3 @ pilot 2 3/4 turns

to

mj#98, eclip on slot#2 @ pilot 2 1/4 turns.

now runs much better.

still need to check spark plug, make sure it doesn't foul.

Correct heat range

Dry and grayish slightly brownish deposit color indication that you are using correct heat range. In most case, after run more than few thousands km will found reddish color which caused by contaminated fuel additive. This condition is acceptable and it’s recommended to find better grade fuel with lesser additive contamination.

Soh...try mj 95...think its the best for stainless steel header with eclip slot 2. So far smooth and fuel efficient. (ave 30-31 km/l)...should work just nice with your mod on the header.
