I believe uncle soh did a post regarding relativity between horsepower and top speed. (one of those translated articles...somewhere in this thread)

It mentioned 1hp is relatively just enuff to provide 10 km/h speed increment. So a 125 cc RW has 11-12 horsies...therefore max speed would be 110-120 km/h (note that power to weight ratio is very important in determining top speed also. Heavy ppl dun expect maximum top speed though...

So in theory since the x5 has 1 - 1.5 horsies more, it can possibly hit 120-130 km/h on the correct sproket settings :goodluck:

....did i mention the better pick up? hehe:bouncefire:

Bro, maybe you might just want to try the bike at stock setting 1st.. have a feel of it. if you thing its insufficient then read up on the recommendations by Uncle Soh in previous threads. Bear in mind though that not all will suit the X5 due to the different engine cc.. It will have different effects. Uncle Soh's bike is the 125cc version and all his recommendations are based on that.

I myself am riding the X5 and am riding at 15T (front) and 41T (back) sprocket with no.98 Main Jet on the carb. Fuel Consumption is around 31/32km per Litre.. Riding 90-110km/Hr Expressway. Still running stock tyres as they are quite safe due to its soft compound as compared to IRC's hard compound.

Remember, the bike should suit your riding style and not that of others. So what suits me, may not suit you. Ride Safe Always..

Enjoy your new ride..

Of coz!!! U could just change the front sproket first...that would be it....

Easier on ur break in oso coz u get to travel at a higher speed at such low rpm. (Actually when i ran in....i just look at my speedo....as long as never pass 80kph....its ok...sometimes also do hard ramming for a while....so far no probs with my engine. )

Changing the front sproket would allow u to hit 110 below redline so it wont be so scary travelling at that speed.

I dun recommend changing the front header....not only is it a waste of money...ur original header would underutilized and ur low rpms will loose valuable power....unless u follow uncles sohs mod on the header (very big mistake on my part as my fc was always below expection till i changed the mj)

Enjoy ur new ride!! And ride safe:thumb:

Many ways to break-in the bike. Many prefer manual specs, some prefer hard break in, some say variable break-ins (sometimes whacking, sometimes constant).....but the most important thing is

NEVER USE SYNTHETIC OILS DURING BREAK-IN. AND WARM UP THE ENGINE PROPERLY BEFORE MOVING OFF (five minutes min)

Google out the answers for yourself and see which one u wanna follow. As long as you follow the above highlighted advice, whatever way u choose, it should run just fine :goodluck:

Break-in Secrets recommends hard break-in and NOT use synthetic oil during break-in. Anyone got any idea how true is it?

That's to say if one bought a new bike then he/she should drain the engine oil and replace with "Petroleum Car Oil" during break-in, am I right?

BTW, what is "Petroleum Car Oil"?

For use with overhauled 2ers...this method is effective. (last time easy to whack 140 kph on highways without getting caught!) It seals the piston rings nicely and seizure is unlikely if its done with semi-synth oils bought over the shelve dun use oils meant for cars. Seen the difference between the pistons that have been breaked in using this method and those that have not while i was riding a 2er last time

I used the variable break in method...so far mech always comment that engine oil always clean when go for oil change after 2500 - 3000 clicks. Dunno whether just p.r. or not :sian:

Been using this method since last time.....no seizures/major engine problems yet from the bikes that have been breaked in using this method including this one :cheeky:

Ideally yes, u should change the oil to a mineral based oil just to be on the safe side b4 u break in. But cka will ask u to change during 500 clicks so shouldn't be an issue....besides like soh said....20 clicks gone liao b4 u touch ur bike. Another ++ clicks oso gone when the shop gets the bike from the producer....
