wah, undertaker your led brake light and the carbon fender nice ler... :lovestruck:

mine is stock bike, only got hugger, slider and bubble windshield that's all...

your exhaust fierce ler... dunno singapore got legal exhaust for CBR900 or not?

 

btw, what is your idling speed, my bike this morning warming half way die off again and cannot be started, then i have to wait till it cools down again then re-warm up, this time i throttle abit so the rpm wont drop...

i suspect t is the fuel supply problem, the fuel cannot reach the carburetor, may be i need to tune the carb?

the LED brake lights are very cheap.. less than RM100 for the 2 pcs

 

yup u can get legal exhaust for sg use... got micron, arrow, akrapovic, yoshi.

if u got the budget go for the akrapovic, guarantee power wan...

 

my idling speed when cold is abt 800rpm. normally when cold start i will hold on the the throttle at 1000rpm for about 15 secs, then leave the thing alone to warm up. it stabilizes at 1050 rpm. i ride off after letting it run for at least 5 mins.

 

yup older bikes all have this problem, its actually the gunk stuck on your valves that make the engine suddenly die off. u can try wash the carbs and balance them back. if the problem still persists, its time for a top overhaul.

 

i'll be doing my top overhaul in a few months time... cos dat day when i open my airbox, i could see some gunk (black carbon deposits) on some of my valves.

i just got the bike, if need to do big engine work, i need to talk to the previous owner....

yups i spend a lot when it comes to maintenance.

 

do top overhaul means changing all the valve seals (16pc), shims (16pc)

a few valves (3-6pcs), timing chain + timing chain holders, wash carbs +balancing, gaskets.

 

i do in msia is only my mech charge the labour, cos i get parts from sg. labour my mech charge very cheap cos we consider more like long-time frens.

 

that was why my timing chain i havent change yet, waiting to save up more $$ so that i can do it all at once, save the labour charge + time.

btw the total cost of my budget is about RM2.5K maximum, but my mech estimated less than RM2k... i just wanna stand by extra in case need to change other parts. cos here i have to open up the engine, then see wat parts needed which i will get from sg. i wanna have a 100% perfect job but it will be more time consuming...

wow, that's a lot of money, if my case is the same, i will bring back the bike to the previous owner, just got the bike 2 weeks, if the condition is so bad, i wouldnt want to carry on with it...

 

this morning same thing happened, i can start the bike easily, press once the bike started... engine running smooth, nothing wrong, rpm at about 1000, but after 5mins of warming up, the rpm started to drop, throttle it drops even more, looks like no fuel supply like that, then it dies off...

waited 10mins then restart the bike, bike started, nothing wrong this time, warm up 2 mins and nothing happened, can ride smoothly, just like nothing happened before...

i suspect it is the fuel supply problem, if it is the valve problem, dont think it can start so easily... will go bike shop check out today, see what happened, sian... hope not a big problem, otherwise $$$ again...

but my blade after second start can go very long wont die ler... from bedok to yishun then to Boon Lay, no problem after the first die off...

hope it just small problem... sian sia... mag coil very ex...
