my cousin brought a FBA plater super four from AS poo> Changi recently.. brand new at a high trade in price for his 2B bike. Think interest around 5.5 percent for new bikes (quite high already)... within 48hrs the front headlight was stolen... then he went down to AS poon Changi wanting to buy a new 1 though, GUESSED what they told him>>>>> $350 for the brand new OEM one which was spec 3 type>>

The bloody price was toooooooo expensive okie... think the people there really treated my cousin A Delicious BIG CARROT izzit.. he didnt get it as i was with him on that day..

OK the point is that me a class2 rider ( who have been in the past chooped up severely before by AS poon for my first bike Aprilia125>>6 years ago lah..) I did not went back since then.. as always been looking at the lowest prices for parts in singapore. Frankly theres alot of shops like Bikewerks (eg) which doesnt suck blood out of us...(honest rite)

Bottom line is that people like us are not born in a silver spoon royal family..average HDB as our bunk, brunt our pockets for our bikes,

Also on that day brought my cousin down to my bike shop which we manage to get it alot cheaper somemore with installation and it is the OEM type , As AS poon also told us that all the spare parts agents in singapore run out of stock.. full of bullshit rite... lots of spares for super four you know..

Thanks for reading this and if anyone one felt offended by this pls note that this is an isolated case but it really happened. Maybe my cousin is only customers related to them... take note that the motor trade market is big in singapore so there are always many dealers out there which a bike shop can get their spares.. if the price seems expensive, anyone have the choice of buying or to look for other bike shop.. which we did and paid off you know....and LASTLY fook the thief who stole it... blessed all of his children born with a super four headlight attached to the forehead too

Well... not sure if i mentioned in this thread before....

I bought an old 400cc sportsbike 3 years ago from wilson at the changi branch. Collection was delayed by a few days/1 week due to some unknown reason with the transfers not being done.( I signed the agreement to purchase the bike 1+ months before the collection date.)

On the day of collection - Clutch was extremely hard, problems with wiring shorting my signal lights, clutch plates worn out, speedo relay at the front wheel spoilt. With that, i went back to the shop to get these things sorted out. Good thing was that they were very willing to rectify the problems. Only thing was i was there almost every other day to get the faults rectified. I thought fine, since they rectified the faults at least they were credible with their warranty. Wilson even offered to extend my warranty.(talk about good customer-relations)

But that was only on the external/cosmetic items. The most disturbing thing was my air filter was practically non existant(i discovered this when i went for my servicing a month or so later to find that my air filter has virtually disintegrated). I was pretty much disappointed by wad i saw. It made me wonder if any shop in sg actually do a complete check on the bike that they are about to hand over to the customer. I paid a pretty much higher price for the bike, hoping to get some value out of it, not to get more headaches and time-wasting.

But coming out of such a situation, I learned to be smarter with my next purchases. Always making sure that all the parts that need to be checked/changed are actually been changed. Many people can promise you the sky, but its up to you to make them hold them to their word.

Overall I find that they have given an ok service, although the prices are fairly higher than other shops. I was tempted to purchase my next bike from them but sadly they did not have the model i was looking for on hand. Which wasn't so much of a bad thing as i bought it from another shop and i'm pretty satified with the level of service provided by the other shop.

My rating for asp would be 6 out of 10.

Arcfire >> With all the problems, why still buy the bike?

I would rather look for another than buying the bike and hope that they will do it up for me. Remember, they are a business.

Also advicable to bring your newly bought bike to your trusted mechanic for a full check-up before hitting the streets confidently. This way, you can find out more faults to claim against the shops "warranty" as well... But do not expect them to service things which are wear and tear for free.

The most important tool to bring when buying a bike is always knowledge. If you do not know much about bikes or that particular model, bring along someone who really do know, and not some who hear from friend who hear from another friend..

Just my 2 cents.

On another note regarding the Spec 3 headlights...

Spec 3 headlights are expensive, ~$300+ If one were to get another cheap "OEM" headlight meant for super 4, most prob they are getting something else.

I've never been to their workshop (As Phoon). I've never bought a bike from them. I just find some of the posting here a little misleading....

Cheers ppl..

Well, for most of the problems that you have seen in my post are not detectable until you ride the bike on the road. I don't have x-ray eyes so i can't see whats wrong with the bike internally. Furthermore the money has already been paid. Unless they sold me a piece of scrap metal and said that it was rideable then i would find it reasonable to ask for a refund.

Its a risk you have to take when you buy an old bike, even if its from a private seller cos you won't know what you will get. Even new bikes have problems.

pay for 2 years interest rate but can pay your bike installment in 36months. Think it's good for YAMAHA bikes only

only applies to 36mths?

what if i take a loan for say... 48mths? guess it doesn't apply anymore?

so i have to pay 4yr interest rate?
