Just took ownership of my new MT-09 ABS yesterday.

Great power delivery low down, light and quick steering, such a small bike for the power/torque on tap (about the same size as my old Street Triple).

Bought the full Akra exhaust system along with the bike. Just been at Sin Ming, Vicom for the inspection = passed.

Great ride through town, from lights to lights........awesome.

Power commander to mellow down the power? Hahahhaa!!

Unless u do stage 2 type of mods like full exhaust and aftermarket filter, u don't need a PC. Most aftermarket endcan add on doesn't require modification of the air/fuel mixture.

Power commander may help with the jerky throttle response which seems to be a bugbear with this ride. Though I reckon Yamaha has issued a service bullentin / update to the mapping?

Essentially, the PC should allow tweaking of the injector delivery to make it more linear.

Hi guys, I am also trying to get back to riding but just not too sure what to get. Now I narrow down to duke 390 and MT09. Yes the are quite a part from the category but I think are both a fun bike to own. More for occasional riding.

So this is what I think. Duke is lower cost to own but seem to have some reliability feedback from elsewhere on the engine. And someone also feedback on the unbearable heat from the radiator.

For mt09 seem to be good other the the huge raw power that I am not sure if it is good for normal ridding in the traffic and if I can get used to it.

Would like some owner advise before plunging into it. Thanks in advance for any advise.
