Can someone confirm the OTR price of the 1190 (both Adv & R) without insurance?

 

Currently only DW and Looi's bring in. Any differences between them in prices and package?

Loois might be cheaper. I bought it at AMS. 36k otr with free h&b top box. Machine is from DW. Both with and w/o r same price.

Heard from DW that they will not entertain PI bikes. So for security purpose, I go for agènt bike.

Got couple offers and now doing final calculations. If Home Minister doesn't question my sale returns I can see if can squeeze out the 1190. Hehehe

This is one sweet, sweet bike that I'm intending to upgrade to in two years' time.

 

I'd love to hear stories of you guys taking it offroad.

It seems to be a really great dual sport. However, I've read reviews and articles about KTM being problematic, particularly with their fuel pump. Really hope they have done more to enhance the reliability of the new 1190. Hope that owners of this bike can start sharing their experience (especially problem) of this bike in the near future.... many thanks in advance.

Every bike has its pros and cons and there are solutions to all the fixes. Have you seen the Adv Forum on the Orange Crush? You won't believe the amount of info that comes with it.

 

You have to own and ride 1 to truly know any bike. The fuel pump problem is more inherent in the 950s. As long as you service the bike just like any other jap bike it shouldn't require any more of what you are already doing with your bike anyways.

 

I have owned quite a few bikes over the last 15 years and i have more issues with some of the so-called 'bullet-proof' bikes that my KTM. I was always looking for another bike when i was riding my previous bikes. I am very happy with my KTM.

 

The only gripe i have is i only ride it once a week. : )

I concur with what you've have said, especially "As long as you service the bike just like any other jap bike it shouldn't require any more of what you are already doing with your bike anyways". And i think you meant any bike, not just Jap bikes.

 

Do you have any intention to switch to the 1190 now that you own the 990?

Test rode both the GS1200WC and 1190 Adv last Saturday back to back.

 

Will not be buying either bike.

The 1190 Adv R is the temptress with the seductive attraction.

 

I am doomed...the thought of $36k++ did flash past my mind serveral times that Saturday...still flashing by today...

PML 'good' meh?? Blaahahahaha!!

DW is the authorized KTM agent and been in the KTM business for a long long time. Doubt they'll do any worse than PML but rather customers should get better service. DW is a motorcycle shop unlike PML which is in my opinion an agent.

No qualms with DW. But i only had experiences with them with my KTM2, RC8 R and KTM530 only. Just 3 bikes. Friendly and nice chaps over there.

 

Like-wise, DW is also the AD for KTM, just like PML is for BMW.
