Y dun u guys just try jump start from a car...... :) save the trouble of pushing start the bike

Most people wouldnt know how to open the bonnet of their car, much less stop to assist a biker.

That being said, can you jump start a bike from another bike? I was thinking of carrying cables if we can.

Posted

Saw the shop around Toh Guan doing harleys when i went to see my customer last week.Wanted to stop by and see but time does not permit.Probably will go by when free to check this place out.

Tried twice on a 02 EFI RK, :(

Able to push start, once flat ground with 1 helper, another down MSCP ramp.

Trust me, no 1 will want to try that.

Yup understood the "pain" & agnoy in that...

VERY TIRESOME process...lol

you can jump start from bike to bike, hunt around sim lim tower for a compact jumper kit, else you can build one yourself but you need thick enough cable or the power during transfer can melt your cable

cant really compare push starting a RK and a Sportster...

Theres nothing to enlighten. If you say you can push start a FI Harley where battery is flat, u arrange a day and time, i will come and see it. i use to have a 97 FI model Road king for 5 years and it doesnt work at all, and am now riding Harleys for 12 years. Will be really interested if you can do so.

A lot of guys in the US run Amsoil. Not sure if we can find it here. I ride a Fi 96 ci, which runds hot so I use synthetic oil - the heat in Singapore will break down the mineral oil. But if you change it regularly, it should not matter.

Whats wrong with SE synthetic, other than the price? I dont mind the price as my scheduled changes are at 6km or 6 months

sweet ride, love the huge tyres in front.

Always ride safely and defensively.

Repair bike cheap and fast,

Repair body expensive and slow.

before you do any modifications, do go to this website for inspirations and ideas

xlforum.net

it is a US based forum on sportster, these guys know their stuff and able to tear down their bikes to the last screw and rebuilt it to bobber,hard-tail, brag-style, old school, cafe racer etc etc.

have fun reading and thinking what your bike theme gona be..:)

i almost wanted to do hard-tail on my nightster but legally it not allowed and hard to pass inspection, end up doing a swingarm old school bobber on mine

Just went to the new Harley Shop is at Enterprise Hub #04-108. Orange colour shop, cannot be missed. Quite a few Harleys in the shop for repair and customising. Get to talk to the owner name Eric, and the mechanic Derek, both of them used to be ex mechanics from the dealership for many years. Now came out to open their own.....

Sorry, found the shop. It doesn't have a sign so need to find blk 108. Two guys who do normal servicing. I will give them a try at my 24k, which should be soon. Have amsoil. Hours are 11to8 everyday. Ph is8183 5318.

Ha! I picked up my XR1200X last week and already blew 6k on parts already. Now I am waiting for the stuff to arrive. Guess, we are all being "poisoned".

Supp... nice! What is the colour of ur ride? Was hoping to get the orange but... alas... black was the last piece for dec.. :p

The Xr1200X model comes in black and white, only the previous model Xr1200 is available in orange. I think they only bring in black color one as told by the sales person. Mine is needless to say ... in black.
