andy, the stock sportster seat for the nightster 2008 is a solo-seat - i've got the same bike.

 

on a separate note, has anyone wrapped their exhaust with DEI titanium exhaust wrap while the pipes are still on the bike? is it a royal pain in the ass?

hi chiyen, i dun think so... the stock seat i hv is extended to the rear fender using the second locking nut hole on the rear fender. There are total 2 locking holes on the rear fender. I have changed to a solo seat which only can use the first locking hole nearest to tank. I will post a photo for you for clarification. I guess there are people who does the wrapping locally but if you need more details, you may want to check with the specialist around.

I have a set of used LA Choppers Apehanger handlebar (10in end rise, 1 & 1/4 in diameter/thickness, 10in center width, 32in wide and dimpled for internal wiring) and a Custom Chrome 3in risers for sale. Used for about 6 months and chrome for both items are in superb condition. Both are separate items. Should be able to fit most softails and tourers or even japanese cruisers. Did you wet wrap it? Because it should be quite a frustrating job. I suggest just get Loctite by your side and take it off, for that extra-tight wrap.

hmm think my reply somehow got deleted during the upgrading 2 days ago. here it goes again:

i used stainless steel hose clamp at the start and end of the wrap. HD wrap ties don't hold the wraps tight enough. hope it helps

I dampened the wrap as per HD instruction. Some warps require you to soak them in water. POint to note is to wear eye protection and a mask. THe dampen wrap will tighten as it dries when the engine is fired up. Be prepared for some smoke.
