For my case my signal lights was LED, if stock signals are bulb kind, then you can't use LED unless you register it with LTA. Which is damn lame.

hi anyone have for sale stock control cables from a street bob, (clutch,brake, idle/throttle), i am putting street bob mini apes on my SG.....believe tat should not require the attention of lta.

Hey guys wassup? decided to come out of hibernation. Reading all these post on lta crack down really puts a dampener on owning and riding a harley. Isn't riding a harley really about making the bike your own and riding something unique?? If making your harley unique is not part of the game anymore than what makes owning a harley any different from owning another big bike? I mean there isn't the harley roar anymore now that aftermarket exhaust are being clamped down. Granted i can understand the need to clamp down on exhaust because of noise and emission but to clamp down on signal lights??!! Norris - i feel your pain man. I think what lta should do is set standards. i.e. your after market signal lights should not be too dim or too glaring or mirrors cannot be smaller than a certain dimension. I think asthetics modification should be allowed as long as it does not affect safety. Unfortunately my father not chief of lta if not sure complain to him over dinner until he indigestion.

 

Anyway, i heard that lta only started to take pics of harley from 2000 onwards with which they use to check for modification. This means that you can get a 99 harley and fix on a strobe light as signal lights and lta won't know

 

Ok now that my complain is over, i've got a question. Liberty insurance told me that they don't insure bikes over 15 years old. I know, WTF!! Can you guys list some insurance company you know so that i can call them to see if any insure over 15 years old bike? Thanks!

Try and get a quote with NTUC. They ae everywhere and insure almost everything u can think of haha

now you guys make me want to sell my hardly ridden sporty and get myself another beemer for town riding, my GS is too bulky for sin roads.. another brillant excuse for me to buy another ride...hahaha

I crashed out at 8.30pm and woke up at 1am and thot to myself nah they can't still be at kfc and crashed out again haha. Shag sia, I was on the road almost the whole of yesterday getting things done. We should meet up next at handlebar. Haven't been to the new one yet.

I ride everyday n I see lta officer at cte almost every other day now. Even tho I'm on stock the prospect of getting pulled over n sent for inspection is not appealing. I think the fact is lta is serious about enforcing n harleys generally attract attention as it is. I don't think it's some personal agenda or whatsoever that's motivating these guys... Getting abit stressful to ride everywhere like I used to...totally not cool. Just yesterday I was spotted by lta again n he was riding in front of me. He slowed down n was looking at me frm his mirror n my exit came up... Bet I would have been stopped if my destination is otherwise...

 

I used to think that if I never do anything wrong I should not b afraid. Well... Truth is... The hassle of explaining n crap is just too much for me to bear becos of my daily tight schedule. This sucks man.

 

In the meantime I will still ride as it's my transport for most times as well. Don't think there's gonna b any let up.

 

Update: lta has yet to reply me on handlebars...

This is one of the reason why I'm not getting my dream bike, the street glide, yet...

And got a scoot instead.. Haha
