Heard quite a bit about pple using this. Zerokewl mentions they may not work on carbs, but i think they might work. If i recall some carbie monster owners overseas gave reviews. Not 100 % sure though

My opinion: It's largely overpriced for what you get. Those pod filters can be had for much less: i got mine for 65 bucks USD for a pair of em and i do believe you can get them cheaper if you look harder.

The only other part this kit comes with besides the air filter is the 'velocity stacks' as they call it, which is nothing more than a fancy name for a machined tube which is big on one end and narrow on the other to accelerate the velocity of air entering the carb venturi. Personally it seems ok in theory but at the end of the day i don't believe you will see much real world performance gain from the velocity stacks. To this day no one has been able to supply convincing, independent, before-after dyno results attributing performance gains to the velocity stacks as opposed to the better-breathing air filters which can be bought cheap on their own.

The real deal-breaker,however, is the price. The entire kit costs about 200USD. Subtract the cost of open pod filters, and that means you pay 150USD for a pair of machined velocity stacks of dubious benefit. Personally i'd go (and i have gone myself) with a pair of K & N open filters and some carb jetting and you'd definitely feel a difference there for less money

P.S no need to worry about open filters and rain. Air filters are oiled out of the box which keeps water out. I've personally ridden my pod filter bike thru massive hurricane rain (irritating as hell!) with no problems whatsoever. Riding after leaving your bike parked in very very heavy rain with an open dry clutch however....thats another story:angry:

Complete 916 Biposto Wiring Harness (all 3) $125

Opening Rocker Arms $200

Yoyodyne Billet Slave Cylinder $100

Termi Carbon Fiber Full 50mm System from an 996SPS

(see pics for dents) $800.

Shipping for everything: $125

So if you want everything the total is $1,150

The above from a ebay seller, advise?

All things considered, I'd go for this deal. Less hassle and fair price.

Not sure if we are talking about the same thing, but the old duc monster forum guys managed to get Chris to do something similiar with respect to results simply by using K&N & some machined pipe thingy, but at a significantly cheaper cost, & confirmed for carbbies.

Hope this helps.......

Unkle Mike pulling hair trying to get my 39s to work, until he gave up. Put in stock Mikuni, and :weep: :weep: :weep: still cannot work.

yea.. was eyeing at that as well.

but the shipping cost over 30usd for 2 pieces on carbon.

it doesn't make any sense .

Let's start 2 companies. 1 to manufacture CF products, and 1 more to charge alot for shipping of those precious CF......

Eh how come cannot work? My FCR 41s were a bolt on job. They worked great right out of the box though it was a little lean (jetting issue only). Mike installed it for me! How come he has so much trouble with your FCRs? Did you get the full set with the throttle assembly and the keihin velocity stacks to fit the airbox (if you are still using the airbox, that is). There might be some bits & pieces missing when you bought the FCRs? Or is it that they just don't work? Where did you get them?

Theres a chance that the problem may not be due to the carbs if you swapped them and it still doesnt work. what do you mean when you say it doesnt work? Bike wont start? or wont run properly? (Ask so many question as if i can solve a problem mike can't solve wahahahah)
