Bike shops rarely have any Monsters for sale. If you want to get it from a bike shop because for loan/finance, then you might want to re-consider. You will end up with a highly overpriced bike.

thanks for the tip. partly because i needed loan/finance...

Hi guys,

I need some help and info. Hope u guys can help me out. I plan to do some major facelifting to my M400. (easy2findme: you should know what bike!)

I want to do the following:

1) Powdercoat the frame

2) Spray and touch up all other plastics, tank and seat cowl

3) Tidy all wiring/cable/harness nicely

4) Install some new parts I have ordered online (clip-on handles, grips, etc)

This is prob gonna be a big job and stripping of the bike is definitely needed. I did the same thing for my previous bike so I know shops/mechs can do it. (Though it was a 2B scrambler and thus easier to do, I don't doubt that it cannotbe done for a Duke) What I need to know is would anyone know which shop/mech can undertake the job? All I ask is for the job to be thorough and well done. I don't mind paying a little extra to get my bike looking spanking new. :)

Thanks guys!

OMG. The tank was just resprayed when passed to you and now you want to respray? I think either Kallang Cycles or Raymond can do it but i dont know if it can reach the quality you want.

When it comes to bikes, I only see red…

as mentioned by seng leong, michael or raymond. i did mine @ raymond's. but powder coating gotta do it yourself. amazingly, the whole bike was already stripped down within 24hrs after i dropped it off.

sand blasting prior to powder coating - 3 - 5 days.

powder coating - 1 week

spray paint tank, fender, rear cowling - 1-2 weeks

assembly back whole bike - 1-2 days

estimate damage - to be safe, prepare 3k if not more.

bare in mind, u gotta strip down your bike to do wat u want. both michael and raymond are familiar with this bike in particular.

Yeah I know. But Michael kinda made a hash of things when I sent the bike to him to service. Petrol leaked from the tank and it ate into the lacquer and you can see a green streak fade on the tank.

Also the seat cowl had a small crack before but now its become bigger and had to take it out just to be safe. Also after I got it back from Micheal.

Very disappointed after getting the bike back from Micheal. He has good intentions but I was not happy with the condition of the bike when I got it back. Had to go back to him a couple of more times becos the indicator lights and the IU unit weren't working. Also noticed a huge scratch on the front fender and the kill switch is not working also. Sigh!

Yeah I'm looking for quality work.

So you saying that powdercoating is the only thing i have to do myself? Can't the shop just handle everything? How about the spray painting?

Are Michael and Raymond the only ones? I know they are the foremost experts on the bike so stripping the bike should be a breeze for them. But is there anyone else too or are they my only two options?

I feel so incomplete riding my bike now knowing its not at its best condition. Damn it.

sorry to hear wat happened to your bike. SENG LEONG!!!! SOS!!!!

raymond doesn't take the transport or contact to do the powder coating. i sourced it out myself.

paint job he can make the arrangements for you. i would recommend getting him to TEO SPRAY. their quality is good. just need to check on it.

quoting from someone who would say the same thing "if u need a heart surgery, would u go to a specialist or get your GP to do it?"
