hmmm..........when engage rear brake, does it flicker too?

or is it jus with the front?

if the rear flicker too.then its the tail light

then if its jus the front and u still have contact but not sustainable...

it could be 1 or 2 stuff

switch or wires connections @ the front.

again...what year is yur monster?

Only front brake will flicker the brake light, rear brake is sustained light, very perfect.

1998 M900. Rear light is after market LED light without turn signal.

Hey all,

Quick one. I'm looking to replace the wiring harness on my bike. Is ebay a good place? What are my options? Most of the harnesses sold on ebay are for 620s. Can it fit a 400?

Thanks guys!

Can post sample links?

hallo,

Here is my advise..

1) Is yours a Pre 98 model or 99 onwards. See year of manufacture !

2) You can only buy from ebay.co.uk not ebay.com, cos the US model ducs' wire harness is different from UK or EU specs..

3) 620S harness cannot be used. Warning 2

4) If you need my help, give me a call..Cofe on you of course

Best to call Troll for coffee. He helped me get the right stuff for the engine the last time. Anyway, how do you know for certain that the harness is gone and need to be replaced? I dont think it is a common problem with the M400, MY 2003.

Sir,

I think the tail should eventually match the overall look and the headlight fairing design. Nonetheless, I prefer the black one (3rd from top). Sorry for my noob vote.

Have a nice day.

Cheers

Dodo Sir,

May I ask if you or anyone has any idea how much does a yellow fairing for the headlight cost? Brandnew and or 2nd hand. Thanks in advance.

Yours Sincerely,

The last time I sent to Michael for servicing, I had to go back to him twice cos electricals were not working. First one was starter switch was not even working. Apparently the wires connecting to the switch were broken at the point where the handle turns just behind the forks.

Michael (and even Raymond) says this is an inherent problem with the bike cos of the handles turning and turning, the wires are bent and eventually snap. Michael had to cut open the harness to connect the wires back and then wrap it back with black tape. Its a temp solution and also unsightly so thats why I'm asking around about the harness.

Troll / Seng Leong, whadaya think?

I guess after you get the harness you arrange it differently if not this problem will occur again. You can try experimenting if this is possible to relocate using this current harness. If it works, you can buy shrink/heat wrap and get rid of the black tape. Save $$ on buying new harness.

If you are having problems with your bike wiring and/or electrical system, try going to Thunder Mah, at the back of 219 shop on Lavender, a few doors from Minerva. He does wonders with bike electrics.

Bro,

Give me a ring. My previous bike owner has one set of relatively new wire harness with him, he might want to sell it away. It was actually a package deal when he bought my bike. ( One big box of goodies, complete wiring harness, rear wiring harness, brake calipers, rear lamp and too many to be listed)
