Newer Ducatis are geared tall to meet emissions requirements...

We sometimes meet at Victory restaurant at north bridge road, sometimes at Royal Prata Cafe at south bunoa vista road. Usually ad hoc but we'll try to post any meetups planned in advance.

You're Warren right?

You sold the M400 to my friend Mike and I was the one that met you at LTA to do the transfer. Sold off my Sport Classic for the M1100.

You riding the ST4?

Okay after almost four weeks, my Duke (M696) finally returned after rehabilitation at Raymond of Bike Harbor!!!

Rating: 12/10!!!!!

10/10 for doing a wonderful job with Duke, +1 for the perfect patch and paint job on the tank cover, +1 for cleaning up and sandpapering my frame sliders / engine guards.

Normally you don't expect bike workshops to do such a thorough job. But when I went back to check on Duke, I really had trouble remembering which side of the bike was banged up. I know Raymond subs out paint jobs to other workshops, but he really makes sure the job is done properly.

He is also quite friendly and likes to talk about other bikes in his workshops with you. But only if he is quite free.

Duke's rehabilitation took this long because I was waiting for spare parts to be shipped. Even though the bike was taking up space at his workshop, Raymond didn't call and complain about it.

You do need to give him time to complete the job. He's a one man show and cannot be hurried.

BTW, Raymond specialises in Ducatis. You can send other bikes in (I asked him if he services Agustas) but he'd rather just work on Ducatis. So please don't send in bikes like Hondas to Raymond lah okay dinie hahahaha...

don't worry im done with paying him pipty bak..

Desmond was it? Yep I'm riding the ST4. Haven't seen you since that day, so went ahead and got the M1100! I still have your number, will let you know if about our meet ups.

Sucks to be me. Skidded again. Bike back at Raymond's.

More importantly are you alright?

Roads are very wet these days, I almost wanted to stop riding after 2 small skids in malaysia 2 days ago. These wet roads and white lines making me very nervous

When it comes to bikes, I only see red…

Muscular sprain and no broken bones. So I'll be on painkillers for some time. I am very sure I didn't jam brake so will have to try to figure out if it's equipment failure or something.

Meanwhile my partner is pressurising me to sell the bike and change to something else!

you don't have to jam brake to have a skid. Opening too much throttle can cause you to skid. Tires that suck in e wet can cause you to skid. Not 'drying' your brakes intermittently can cause you to skid. It's more of rider technique and tyres. Never the bike.

That being said, get well soon okay! So you can start thrashing that NSR..

Hahahahaha. So you would have been nervous all the way to malacca?

Hope you get well soon lutein. Well, selling the bike won't help you deal with wet weather riding. It may be that your long layoff from the bike made you rusty in terms of finer control. Do think over it, maybe we could meet up (at a place more convenient for you) and chat about it...

I was being ultra cautious as I was still getting used to the new brakes. Was going at about 50km/h and it was to me a typical "brake to slow down" situation. There was a traffic jam so I was using the brake quite frequently. The front brake also had problems with differing pressure which changing the brake master cylinder didn't seem to solve (my partner thought it was in my mind, maybe it was, but the feel of the brake definitely varies - sometimes stiff sometimes softer).

So assuming that my braking technique was okay, we're going to check the brake calipers and tyres.

I'm quite accustomed to wet weather riding but frankly I am losing confidence in this bike.

Yes, I am seriously considering trading in Duke for a Hornet! At least the Hornet comes with ABS...

Or a GSX600. Because I can ahem get a free engine upgrade...

had a hornet900 before. Good bike with lots of rizoma potential. Consider cb1000 r too..

Dreamed I was a muffler. Woke up exhausted.
