hey all,

i've always wanted to try a duke, but never really seem to be able to convince myself to have one.

so can someone try to convince me why i should get a duke. I've class 2, so anyone can just shoot any model.

basically, i want to know why duke and not other brand. specifically i'm looking at the naked bikes and hypermotard. not really a sports bike person.

and please dont tell me to go with my heart, just try your best to make me buy one. those who are selling, especially can try to sell your bike here.

thanks for your time!

Yeah, if you have trouble justifying it, then you probably want to hang back on the purchase. I'd try not to over-analyze the issue.

A simple checklist will do;

1) Dig the aesthetics

2) Get a kick when i'm on it

3) Usability. ie. I'll get what i want out of it

4) Affordable

5) Can't think of any other alternative

Coincidentally, this checklist also doubles up as a "Should I date this chick" checklist.

That list suits the "choosing what bike list". For ladies, not so much as there is one more important question which is "Will she choose me too?"

Anyway, nojam, you don't need convincing. If you need it, that means you got not much conviction in getting a bike, especially a Ducati. Passion is needed for riding these italian babes. I believe every one of the Ducatisi have a sense of passion for their bike, you should too since you wanted one.

On a side note, think I'll be able to touch a M400 real soon!

I'm a Tutor! Proud to be one!

not to sound rude to anyone.

i kinda expected this, my bad. this kind of post definitely get this kind of replies. yes i know "if i need convincing, i dont need this bike", i probably say the same to anyone who wrote my post.

what i really want to know is other than the passion for ducati, what are the technical advantage of a ducati over other brands? unless you guys are saying a super4 beats a monster 400 flat.

actually i kinda like the analogy used by dodobird. up.

What doesn't kills me can only makes me stronger.

A super 4 beats a ducati monster 400 flat, in terms of performance, cost, servicing. :). A monster wins hands down on style and presence tho. Edited by h@nn

Duc M400 has it strength as well..... when you take it for turn and corner.....you will sure feel it in term of it stability and smoothness....

the feeling of maneuver is around compare with s4 .....is quite different btw...

I'm a proud owner .... of 2006 efi version ......btw

If u break up with 1 girl to be wif another who has a long legs, big boobs, and great in bed, then which is the better girl?

Good or bed is subjective. Back to the same qns, what do u want out of the bike?

Buying a bike or car usually falls under 2 situations. U like what u see and u need to forefill a requirement.

one of my current squeeze, the Diavel, seems to drink a lot, and no doubt has only one boob (one headlight), yes maybe the legs are too long (wheel base), may have one rear tat maybe a bit too phat, and may break my bed if we get in together, but i still like/love her; yes, for me, its a passion. : )

No doubt my 13 yrs old monster is old, giving her some make up does turn her to today's beauty. I wish she had bigger boobs (tank), wider hips (190 rear), sharp features (newer outlook) but I still love her every moment every sec.

If u pump at the petrol station there is a button to press to do the conversion. But it should be 220/245 and 235/260 if i remember correctly.

Pressure with pillion?

Wah i cannot answer u liaoz since i dun pillion often.

A quick search would also turn up with 34/36 but its also subjective to the weight of the rider. Some even prefer 37/37. So its subjective to your own person preference.

hi.just wondering if anybody have their monster tail chopped? how do you go about the inspection?

just stick on a temporary one for the inspection.

most of those guys dont really bother anyway.

it's cosmetic unlike exhausts mods and engine upgrades etc

thanks. i will just try without the mudguard. because i dont seem to be able to attach one.

Just get any cheap one and tape it firmly onto the licence plate and go for inspection.
