mazda 2 new model definitely will be a good buy, hows the FC like? spacious? I found out that cars nowadays are getting more "chubby" and rounder in its body contour...

Anyway, wkend car is a good choice for wkend drive out with more family members. I cant tahan the long traffic jams on early morning 8am when drive out with those cars buaya with yours... I like to ride to work as i can get out of my house at 845 when i have to start work at 9am for a 25km journey, drive during weekend when i bring my dogs for beaching and suntanning and dog runs...

Other than that, full license cars are just so plain useless for my case. i could do much better for my bikes and cars or even more shopping expenses. :thumb:

I do agree that many people are getting too tempted by the idea of even driving a full license 50k car with only earnings of 2-3k income. In end just got into deep shits for no reason with debts and instalment and servcings. but sometimes leave some leeways on critics and comments gives a better forum convo among members here. Not necesary be so critical on the words use in forum.

Flaws Imperfects My Perfection

I think the new Mazda 2 looks good... I've never driven a mazda before but i really like the looks of it. I myself am thinking of getting an OPC. I dun feel that the cost for a normal plate justifies the hours i use it on the road.

I usually ride to work and I always will I guess. The jam just drains one to drive in the CDB area.

ps. sorrie for double post.

As in the march issue of Autocar Singapore.

Mazda tops reliability table.

Followed by Honda in 2nd and Toyota in 3rd.

Kia ranks 5th.

Land rover and Jeep at the bottom of the table at 32th and 33th respectively.

Info gathered by survey of number of faulty vehicles of each make out of a 100 of that particular make.

Only about 8 out of 100 mazdas are faulty.

Auto Bild, Germany’s largest car magazine, has ranked Mazda in first place in its highly respected “Quality Report” for 2007, which was published on June 8. This was the third straight year that Mazda has been awarded first place in this annual report. First conducted in 2001, Auto Bild’s Quality Report compiles the result of seven criteria – endurance tests, car owner surveys (22,795 Auto Bild subscribers), recalls, Germany’s Technische Uberwachung Verein (TUV) report, customer complaints at Auto Bild, type of warranties and the quality of dealerships based on secret service tests – for a comprehensive picture of quality in Europe’s largest market according to brand.

As was the case during the previous two reports, Mazda quality was evident in all aspects of the survey. Especially strong results were achieved in categories reflecting long-term quality: on the TUV report (roadworthiness inspections for cars that are two and three years old) and on Auto Bild’s 100,000 kilometer Endurance Test – where the new Mazda5 is currently halfway through the test with no breakdowns.

Mazda also scored high on the owner survey for low repair frequency and high body build quality, which enabled the brand to improve on 2006’s excellent result. Results in this year’s report reflecting customer satisfaction and warranty performance –traditional strengths of Mazda models – were once again very positive.

“We’re especially honored that in 2007 Mazda was chosen the winner of Auto Bild’s Quality Report for the third time,” said Dan Morris, Mazda’s senior managing executive officer in charge of marketing, sales and customer service. “This prestigious award is a recognition of the quality of the design and manufacturing built into every Mazda vehicle. And it gives us more confidence as we move forward with our plans to bring even greater levels of quality to all aspects of the Mazda Zoom-Zoom car owning experience for our customers worldwide.”

New Engine for Mazda 2 to Give 23km/l

"Mazda has developed a new, naturally aspirated MZR 1.3L Miller-cycle engine which will power the new Mazda 2 (Demio) in Japan. With the aid of a new continuously variable transmission, Mazda expects a 10-15 mode fuel economy of 23.0 km/L, a 20% improvement over the 19.2 km/L rating of the current model.

Newly developed from the current MZR 1.3L DOHC aluminum engine, the naturally-aspirated MZR 1.3L Miller-cycle engine employs delayed closing of the intake valves in order to reduce pumping losses and improve thermal efficiency through a higher expansion ratio.

Intake valve timing is optimized by the Sequential Valve Timing System to provide improved fuel efficiency over the current MZR 1.3L engine when cruising and accelerating.

In conjunction with the CVT, which transfers torque at low speeds without power loss and eliminates gear-shift shock, the setup achieves excellent fuel efficiency as well as a smooth and exhilarating ride.

In addition to this new, highly efficient powertrain, the all-new Demio has been made approximately 100 kg lighter than its predecessor through weight reduction techniques, which have resulted in nimble handling and significantly improved fuel economy.

The Demio model with the naturally aspirated MZR 1.3L Miller-cycle engine combined with the CVT transmission achieves a fuel economy that is rated as 20 percent or better than the level specified by Japan’s 2010 fuel economy standards.

Exhaust emissions are also at least 75 percent lower than 2005 standards, which conforms to Japan’s Super Ultra-Low Emissions Vehicle (SU-LEV) standard and qualifies the Demio for Green Tax exemptions.

Through its Sustainable Zoom-Zoom plan that was announced in March 2007, Mazda declared its intention to pursue the harmony felt between driving pleasure and environmental and safety features, and its quest for an advanced Zoom-Zoom world.

This includes the ongoing desire to create captivating design, to provide our customers with continual driving pleasure and to develop improved safety and environmental technologies." -as from other car forums.

with all due respect, if you dont mind me saying, actually it's quite embarrassing to call Mazda3 "M3". In this instance still not so bad becos we all know you are talking about Mazda3 and not the BMW M3. But if no reference is made, Mazda3 should be known as Mazda3....

Just my suggestion.

In Japan, Mazda 2 is known as Demio. Demio club SG mainly consisted with Mazda 2 forummers, and this forum is not an afilliation of Mazda Club Singapore

mazdaclubsg is mazdaclubsg aka MCS
