yup, its the short oil filter.

How will it affect our bike performance bro?

so far i have no complaints abt the performance of my bike.

any difference between the long and short oil filter?

one must avoid doing that!! i hv experienced that, it will restrict bike performance!!

& know from mech at HL that doing this might kill our engine as well due to "insufficiant" oil flow.

maybe u can try to feel ur current bike performance then change to original oil filter & see, lots of diff.

what kind of engine oil u guy are using huh?/ and what the grading?/ me i using 20w 50 maxima.. and i changed every 5k..

$5K to do up your FJR???!!!

Yup the quote is 5K to replace it and find a new one, the valve system doesn't come by itself, now watching E-bay everyday to find for second hand parts from overseas, if it's possible to find found a few, but seems like i still need to find harders,

Very Very sad, and sian cos no transport now, My scram is unriderable on the road as it's laid up and the Pro-circit full system and valve system need not say, can cost me more than the bike if ROV catch me on the road

AIYAAAAAA, alamak, anyways, if you guys come by any news of any parts, that resembles something like the one that i've attached do inform me.

I think the riders of FJR are friendly. Most of the time when I bump into another FJR, the rider would at least nod their head or smile....

I saw AT44 on a evening few days ago, on a weekday. He was turning right (where after turning, we can turn right into Bukit Merah Lane) at the junction of Queensway. I was on the opposite side of the road, can't say hi to him.

Then after going straight, passing by Anchor-point on my left, then the two petrol kiosks, I saw another silver FBB FJR waiting at the traffic lights junction (about to go straight towards Dawnson Place) before I turned left at the slip road. Didn't get a chance to say hi too... :)

Saying Hi now to both of them if they are here (I know Bro AT44 comes in here some times, but I am not sure the Bro sliver FBB). :)

by the way today i just found out that u over top up yr babe with EO the bike will get very heavy...

Just some infor i got from the experts over at my end some time back

(during my S4 days), Just to share,

As we all know engine oil not only lubricates the engine, it cools/cleans and ensures the clutch plates are also readily lubricated apporiately as you know it's reused within the clutch compartment as well.

In most instances, the first sign for the need of Engine oil change is the clutch plates get rather a tad bit of resistance to engage due to high carbon particles in oil it self, having resistance, secondly the engine it self suffers power loss as more carbon built up is not cleaned up as the cleaner agent in the lube itself loses its ability to work as effective in the early stages, third instances will be the it gets more hotter easily as the lubrication oil also cools down the system, the more carbon the heat is unable to escape more easily.

Frankly, alot of us here do know what is required from the manual, some go alittle mile to get more fundamentally stronger engine oil.

Seriously, we all know what the brand names provide just like petrol (92/95/98) they are across the board similar in versions but different in names.

What you require is your comfort zone for use. As we have alot of listed products on the market,

Its just like buying Sardines, u got Ayam brand and you got lots of other brands, but its fundamentally its all Sardines in a can.

(all quoted from my previous techincal personal)

regards

No problem, you were on the other side of the road and I was on this side of the road of Alexander Hospital, "hiding" between two cars. You were wearing a blue jersey with the number 44 behind... :) Hope I didn't get the wrong person. :)
