One of his friends has been notified. He is contacting the Thai guy already.

Luckily there are still several kind and thoughtful souls in other countries amongst the biker family.

May you Rest In Peace Bruda..

Bro i seriously agree, i totally replied Ah Keong i couldn't be the engine oil, i'm actually with BP/CASTROL (Engine oil buiness) and for the past 8 yrs experience, no amount of complaints have i come to see this kinder a problem for engine oil change

As i was talking to Ah Keong, he also mentioned that there have been some instances where the newer FJRs ('06 onwards), have experienced that their bikes eat away the EO after a long ride up to Thailand, up to a 500ml short-fall!! :giddy:

wonder if its true, and if any of you guys encountered such issues before..?

$5K to do up your FJR???!!! :faint:

Sigh....I live in Woodlands. No sense in me going all the way to 2nd link and back just for fuel when 1st link so near. Think best way is to go during off-peak times, and preferably without side-panniers. Must practice skill-riding without boxes in BIKES lane first.

But the BIKES lanes sometimes **** up too. On my way back, the queue was pretty long at the BIKES lane but there were at most only 2 bikes at each normal counter!

hi bro me too leave in sembawang and its true useless going tuas..

but just take out yr panniers can already..

going tru the BIKES can with pinniers just bend yr mirrors in and yr pinniers best is to put the protective sticker like the one at the car mine have lot of it so if bang or drop only thingy will scratch... :cheeky:

bro zamani where u get the engine oil.. and how much?? what is the grading??

i service my bike at AMK Industrial Park 1 by this mechanic called Ali. I call him Cik (Uncle) Ali out of respect lah.

Never really ask the price, but he say cost 20+ per bottle.

For me, price is not an issue as long the quality is there.

Grading not so sure, but i read the contents, can use up to 30,000km!!!

need to see the grading and how long before u change yr next engine oil..10k? interval or 5 k??

So far i have used chemlube for 2 cycles.

The 1st cycle after 2 free servicing from Hong Leong and the second cycle 10K later.

Can last up till 30K interval, but i intend to change every 10 or 15K interval.

Yah, must start shopping for the protective stickers n the DIY locks. So busy with work, no time to look for these things.

Since we live nearby, next time give me a shout if u gg to top up and mebbe we can go together.

His story was the cover page story on the New Paper today. Was surprised to read about the noble cause of his trip. Sad that he should lose his life on the road just like his best buddies. Respect.

Last servicing done.

Engine Oil - 4 bottles

Gear oil - used 1/2 bottle but paid 1 bottle

Iridum spark plugs - x4

Oil filter - using R1 oil filter

all these for $200+

Its at AMK industrial Park 1. He actually rent out the front portion of a shop called "Yeow Motoring", a shop dealing wif spray painting.

He does all bikes, but wud appreciate if u make an appointment with him if u intend to service, so dat he can prepare the parts needed beforehand.

Next time you see him, can ask him whether he used to work at UBI there? Just at the entrance to a staircase? My mech Ali used to service my TZR and last heard is he we to AMK industrial estate.

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

Which kind of R1 oil filter u r using now...??

Think our FJR cannot use e short oil filter, it might affect ur bike performance... we must use back e original 'long' type oil filter...
