Fellow brothers of the FJR....

my take on what has recently happened...

There has been a spate of break ins to motorvehicles with boxes recently....

I think we can be vigilant be then again, **** happens.......

I guess we can do our part in crime prevention by reporting suspicious characters in the vicinity of our neighbourhood (esp our carparks) to our friendly policeman....do note that description of the suspect really helps and also take note if that person is carrying a bag or something.....

As for out MSCPs, does anyone know that the floor is actually sprayed with a layer of epoxy??? I don't know why that chemical is sprayed in the first place but the end result is.......water can make any bike fall even if u are careful.....

HDB must be nuts in spraying such chemical on the floors of the MSCP....

2004 - 2006 = Honda Phantom TA200

2006 - 2008 = Yamaha Dragstar Classic 400

2008 - ???? = FJR1300ABS / 08 (hereinafter conferred the name of the 'Black Berserker')

yes bro,the sliders indeed save my fairings from hell.for the panniers, well can't say much either u scratched it or by luck u dun. i have my luck today.

so to those who have not install their sliders pls do so.. IT REALLY HELPS!

and tis is from my personal experience TWICE.......

Bro, sorry to hear about your skid.

Wah... You can lift up this beast by yourself ah... kudos to you manz...

I fell in my MSCP too last time when I was riding this beast. I can never lift it up until two kind souls who walked past helped me with it.

Correct me if I am wrong. But when your beast dropped, your side panniers did not suffer much damages except scratches, right??

Cos even if sliders are installed, they will only "save" your side fairings, your box will still suffer some slight damages. The sliders won't save the panniers.

If you have your panniers on your bike when it dropped, the pannier would have "tahan" the bike and the damages won't be done on the side fairings, right??

Just curious. I am not being rude or trying to stir up something or add salt to your wounds. Hope to seek your understanding. I know how much it hurts cos I dropped my previous ride two - three time too.

Hope your beast is ok without any major damages.

P.S. : Perhaps you may want to check on your coolent level to make sure the coolent did not leak out during the drop. Cheers. :)

Gotta agree dat the sliders will only save ur ferrings, ur panniers will incur some scratches.

But den again, does anyone have a "scratchless-free panniers" so far?

u mite have been a careful rider but other ppl wun.

Try to q via Wdl checkpoint. 2nd day i got my bike, went to JB via Wdl, those kupkias juz whack my bike/panniers like nobody biz.

Hence, i dun really bother abt the outlook of my panniers.

I agree with you.

Even if one were to send the panniers for a fresh coat of paint, tiny scratches can be seen after gettng the panniers back and riding for a while, esp if travelling on NSH, cos the small stones will definitely "make some tiny damages" to the bike and panniers.

Bro, its Ramesh or Ram for short...anyways, will be there in the afternoon on saturday,

but i would be going for a wash if anyone's interested, at Ang mo Kio Auto point from a fellow brudder, but he charges a little bit steep but don't know how many are interested. at 50 dollars for wash/polish and sealant. but 1 wash a month is enuff la, i don't do it often as once the sealant is on, it's shiny for at least 3 weeks. So if interested do buzz me at 94598436. maybe can get cheaper if we go in numbers...kekekeke:goodluck:

Hi bro,no worries..yeah the sliders really helped saved my fairings.as for the panniers if u think it logically, yes it will attain scratched once its dropped. but mine i checked no new scratches at all only the old ones..as i said its pure LUCK for my panniers on tat day.

As for the scratches on our panniers we can't really do much as stones and small debris will happen to gaze it while riding. Well if u got the extra $$$ perhaps u can invest on Race Shield.that stuff really works coz i tried to poke a key through a small leftover RaceShield plastic,it never got thru.

But its damn ex when i ask..just for our panniers kit itself cost ard $200 :faint:

Bro, its Ramesh or Ram for short...anyways, will be there in the afternoon on saturday,

btw Team Shinez oso conducting the wash session during the bikefest.if not mistaken Wash Package(normal wash only) ard $8 or so..if the Shinez package all inclded(stain remover, polish etc etc..) they quote me between $60-$80 for our beast. but must tell them to book the timings they allocate.
