Seng Kwang is able to fabricate any kind of metal customisation that suit ur needs..

Think it is a '05, but can't confirm and dunno whether it is sold or not.

Yo guys, anyone experienced inconsistent balding of the front tyre only on the right side? At first I thought maybe I did too much cornering on the right side or maybe it was due to the MSCP where its always only a right turn, but hear that there are more FJRs experiencing this problem.

 

Wonder if its a design fault?

 

Met Fazuli at JB just now and he mentioned some others have this prob too.

well,i belong into that category..tyre balding on left side(direction while looking at the bike from front.)

when i check wif the mech,he say might be the suspension not align properly where one is slightly lower than the other..will be checking back wif him again tmr to do suspension measurement.

 

anyway,will be changing the front tyre end of the month lah coz now the balding have spread to the centre line..amazingly right side still ok.

Kaz, sounds like its the same case. I was referring to "right" when I'm seated on the bike. Make sure you take clear pics of the uneven balding of the tyre. I suspect its a design flaw and am considering highlighting it to HL. If got at least 1 more case like this, we can make a strong demand that we be compensated in some form for this flaw. I am also in need of a change sometime pretty soon, but we gotta highlight this case to them before changing.

think i heard about this issue in FJRFORUM website, they actually using the same 021 tyre like us & facing the same prob, what they did is went back to Yamaha dealer & the Dealer change for them Front & back for free.

08 models comes with BT021 stock tyres..urs is 07 right?

 

i'm eyeing on the Dunlop RoadMaster tyres,its a sport-touring tyres as well coz went to the website and also the mechs recommend it esp useful for touring purposes..

it has very hard centre lining and soft compound by the sides, thus making the tyres more durable longer life.

but the cost EX lah coz still new in the market..

 

anyone tried tis particular model yet? do share aite...

sadly they dun sell just 1 piece..they selling as a pair.already asked the entire bike in that stretch Bukit Merah all selling as a pair.

know how much HKL quote me the front?? $180 sia :giddy:

its really daylight robbery..so my choice is i went to ah boy got the BT021 front tyre and fix it at my own mech. (useful if u got car or a pillion wif u to help carry the tyre). try not to go to their mech coz i'm not sure they know to handle our bike..btw it cost $135.how about tat?

just had mine changed tis afternoon by my mech.now no scared do cornering already hehe

hello everyone, does the fjr heats up fast on the road especially in singapore and its traffic jams.....

 

FJR is really a wonderful and powerful bike to ride on not only in NSH but also in s'pore roads...believe me when i say EVERYONE will give a second look at ur bike.

But a disadvantage of having the massively powerful sport-touring bike like tis is the heat that comes out of it.its not really a good experience to be stuck in a jam wif this beast especially when ur not wearing long jeans..

The heat will crawl up from ur ankle all the way to ur thigh.and pillion esp will feel the heat too if he/she are not wearing long jeans and shoes.tis is a common prob affecting all high powered bikes e.g FJR,STX,GTR and even sportbikes.

But as u move off,the heat dissipates and everything will return to normal.

 

Comparing the heat to what this beast is capable of doing,its really just a small price to pay..soon enuf u will get use to it.

 

Lesson learnt: Always wear long jeans + shoes..and u will enjoy every minute of it coz u will not feel the heat at all but rather fighting the temptation to open up ur throttle more hehe.

U can try the Hardware shops near ah boy . They carry strobe lights in yellow , red or blue color . But u have to diy ur own mountings .
