yes i saw an 06' FJR at HL having the same problem. i believe it sould be a key-switch-fluan-za outbreak. better check with HL b4 is too late.

but from what i know is the owner of the above mentioned 06' need to pay labour to change the keyswitch.

Just had my bike towed to HL and have a question to ask:

 

When starting my bike this morning, petrol started gushing out from under the tank when I turned the ignition switch on. Even worse when throttle, and bike can crank but not start. In the end have to tow.

 

Its most likely a fuel line somewhere that burst I presume. Just wanna ask if its a common problem, or probably one-off for my bike? Any possible preventive measures?

I would like to install higher windshield and was quoted by motorworld Ermax $217 or MRA $280. Is the pricing ok?

Also considering changing Bike cover to oxford which is $40. Any comments? Thanks.

Get your bike, make some short trip and make it "Ready" before we plan for our trip...

will share this trip with those who really wish to joint if it really happen....

Actually to be frank Hatyai is better for those shopping freaks. Betong really got nothing just tat the ride is nice lah. not many pple went to Betong coz often Sadao border is the safer choice. The reason are:

1.) Upon reaching Betong border, all fone lines will be disconnected thruout ur stay.

 

2.) in order to make fone call,need to purchase a special sim card there but must being along ur passport so they will take down ur particulars and also as assurance you are a tourist.

 

Reason Y fone line got disconnected in Betong?

Ans: Bombings do take place but further down lah e.g in Pattani, Yala etc etc where handphones are used to activated the bombs.

 

Want to go Betong can but at border only..tat one confirm safe! My previous trip i went a liitle further to Yala town where the Thai army tank is travelling beside me to "jaga" the vincinity lah. Also barb wires are in place all around and no photography allowed.

So tats y i can't take pics in Yala and post in my Multiply.

 

PS: Like tat also i kena comment cheekily as Betong rider wah lau haha!!

Currently only the 2 brands are available for FJR.. Ermax is good coz its taller and less wind resistance. MRA can't comment coz haven't tried yet. Pricing abt there lah bro. Watever it is dun waste ur money on GIVI windshield for FJR ok..it really is the same height as stock but more rounded, i dun now y they have it.

 

Bike cover is personal lah bro unless u believe in the brand lah. I've been using aboy bike cover for over a year now and it still serves me great. Its WATERPROOF and HEATPROOF and best of all its $18...!!

The only bad thing abt OXFORD is that its not heatproof tats all.. Reason?

Try to kena the cover to ur exhaust confirm will burn the material.

woah, I wonder if thats what I've been experiencing and was thinking my batt was weak. Quite a few times bike used to stall when moving out from carpark in 2nd gear.

 

But strangely everything is ok now after recent servicing & a 1 day rubber-burning trip to Fraser.

Not really bad about oxford biker cover,it's last more than a year.

just bought one last wk at $35.for FJR choose the touring type size xl.

there is slot too for secure ur cover...he he.

TBS, Throttle Body Sync. Not compulsory. Wont kill ur engine if you dont do. Just slightly better FC and smoother pick up. Not ex. Last time I hands on with Meng Tong he only charge $20 including plug change. Of cuz, plug i buy myself. But HL i think charge $60.
