"Flinestones"-style means to do it with both your legs down on the floor, tip-toe to do the 3-point turn.... hahahaha....

Bro, the sliders will never save your panniers. They're meant to save your fairing and engine. Might also significantly limit the damage/impact to your side-mirrors, but will not completely save them. Your panniers on the other-hand, act like another set of huge sliders to save the bike body and pipes.

The only way to fix sliders at the front and save the panniers is I think to use sliders as long as hockey sticks :cheeky:

my experience installing voltmeter(autogauge) on my previous bike is pretty useless..(my opinion). shows 12.5-13.5 volt..next day cant start..battery dead..have to change battery.this thingy for me just to make bike beautiful..so when i sold that bike, i just left it, i only remove my stebel horn n alarm only..if its useful i have already taken out n transfer to my fjr..

Woah, thats an eye-opener to me bro. Never used them before so I didn't know they were so ineffective. Thanks for the tip.

Has anyone else actually felt the voltmeter being useful?

mine was also from equipment extreme. very satisfied with the sliders. when i 1st drop my bike, only manage to scratch the panniers a little.

BUT dun get too long sliders. cos when bike topple at high speed, the 1st thing you'll see when your sliders hit the ground is your sliders break and fly off.

too long = less strength

shorter = better strength

Agree wif bigcow..

Also too long a slider once u fall at quite high speed the sliders will indeed save ur box but if its slides too long, it will anchor itself to the ground causing ur bike to be be overthrown forward. *touch wood*

hey guys what's up? it's been so long (long..long...)

anyway, about saving the panniers, have you guys thought about putting those car door protection-guard thingy? i mean, it's just like those fouring bumper guards, but gotta think of a way to stick them on and still maintain a good look on the bikes.

anyway, what alarm system would u guys recommend? was just thinking of fixing a set....

bro, dun think so. wat i've seen before is that, too long sliders, when hard impact on ground, it'll just break off. at least still got save the bike from the 1st hardest impact to the ground. but still can't save the bike from serious damage.

equipment extreme got the correct measurements for making the long sliders.

I am currently using SteelMate 2-way alarm. $120. Shock-activated. Not bad, but only have one (non-LCD) remote and internal circuit tend to corrode if there's moisture (like rain splash).

Shop for alarm with spare remote, have good range and 2-way.

If you have spare cash, get those "proximity" activated alarms. I've seen a "live" demo on a Rocket III and it is impressive.

I've not idea on aftermarket windshield. Am sure some of the bros here will advise.

My stock shield is blurred and scratchy too. Am going to try buff it to a clear with a buffing machine.
