could be bro..next servicing will check it out ..but confirm something is wrong..when i jam brake my rear tyre, its locked..

Oh that SWay shop ah?

After you check for brake binding, how about getting a second opinion from another shop - one that had experience in fixing FJR? Perhaps your brake (the round steel part that pushes the pads) needs just a service (clean the dust and deposits and grease it) - $10 to $15 job.

either the ABS for your rear wheel is out of sync or maybe the rear ABS was defective, then last owner mod to bypass the ABS.

now u know this Mr Ah Choon either dunno his stuffs or he is throwing bombs.

ok, i will try to troubleshoot wat uve told me...another question, wat is the purpose for the ABS light?? when it is lighted, meaning its telling u sumthing is wrong??

btw, thks bros for the advices...

ABS light - when light up, means ABS defective.

common for 2004 models. goggle it and you'll find that around the world, many '04 owners have this prob.

when u do hard braking when the road is uneven or brake abruptly will cause the ABS light to light up.

switch off your ignition and switch it on again will solve the prob.

If according to the manual it means, Engine Trouble. but its kinda grey lah coz engine trouble could mean lots of things e.g

1. ABS not responding

2. Brake binding

3. ABS fuse problem

4. etc etc

So usually i go to fix the no.2 prob first.

Nvr see that bike before, but Givi has a box that looks a lot like a briefcase. The E36N Business Case. Last I checked with Elyn, it was $288 before GST.

Perhaps your brake (the round steel part that pushes the pads)

That's the brake piston. point to note, use hard plastic brushes instead or metal bristle brushes that the shops here like to use. The last thing you want is to scratch the piston, then have to replace it due to air leakage into the brake line.

Another simply way is to get one of those brake dust cleaners from car accessory shops, although the merits/demerits of these products have been much debated

Nice to see some life coming back to this thread

I guess you are trying to say "use hard plastic brushes instead of metal bristle brushes.... "

Oh - that's "brake piston" Thanks :)

That's a good point to note! I saw my mech used special spray solution to loose the dirt and cloth to remove the residue. Did not use wire brush though - phew!

no la bro...the solar is for storing electric energy for the battery...so the battery will not be flat if the bike doesnt start for so long...tats wat my shop told me la...the previous owner was the one who installed tis thing...it cost abt $600+...wah,if the bike runs on solar system, better man...save the atmosphere..no more pollution..no nid to go jb pump petrol...hahaha...:thumb:

Thanks Kazky and madcow for clarifying that. I knew I was missing something! The pic that I had in my head was just spraying WD40 on the pads and that didnt make any sense :)
