BTW, I saw a F* 5##5 * FJR with after market pipes along Buona Vista Road near to BV MRT Station this evening around 610pm, with a female pillion behind.

 

Heard the loud roar of the pipes and looked into my left side rear mirror...

 

Darnz... Saw those familiar head-lights of a Fabulous Joy Ride in the mirror...

 

Wonder if it is any one of you here?

Just a word of advise. Be extra careful when you park your bikes in JB. I just got to know that another friend of mine bike got stolen in one of the GIANT supermarket. Its a black VFR. Now they not only take Super4. Whatever they can take, they take.

 

Locking the bike with lock is not an option. One of my friends in JB told me that these guys can open any kind of locks without even cutting them. They are pros.

Black VFR rite? NOt sure of his name. Poor guy. It's sucks sia. Use hard earned money to buy our beast and these AH's steadily take them away. Now no more parking bike and go shopping in JB. Bike must always be at sight.

Has any1 install handlebar risers for 06' above model? Is it a MUST to remove the top triple clamp and take away the black metal bracket that holds the cables n hydraulic lines?

 

I have installed the bar risers... it gave a slightly more upright riding position and yes it's much more comfortable riding position eventhough a slight change.

 

You'll need to remove the bracket looms that holds the cables. Which means you need to cut the bracket looms to release the cables from it. And you don't need the looms anymore.

 

The 1st time, you have to remove the clamps but subsequently no need to if you ever wanna adjust the bar risers towards or backwards.

Ya. Did a trial n error the other day. Now i know why the bracket looms need to be removed. Will get a mech to do the installation.

Hey FJRians,

 

My bike just crossed the 40K km mark and according to the manual it's time to get the valve clearance checked and adjusted (among other things). For a procedure like this, would I need to go to Yamaha directly (so HL Corp)? Are there tools they use for this that only they have? Or will another shop be able to take care of this?

 

What about cost, how much can I expect to pay for this? A friend suggested I go to HKL. Any thoughts or other recommendations?

 

Interested to hear your experiences. Thanks!
