im still waiting for my H4 HID bulb to reach SGP. Balas I'm using my old one. After I fix up I will share info here... My HID kit last me ard 2 years n still serving well...

Wanna ask all the bro/sis over here... any 1 who hv a 06 and above FJR and have installed top box on their bike... how did u guys mount it (any pics to illustrate) and where to go get it??

Cos i m vy keen to hv a at least 48+L top box... if i cannot find a rack for it, i tink i will DIY to mount the box.

Happy Chinese new yr to u too ! !

 

If u have the normal kappa or givi or monokey base plates plus all the brackets n screws, u can easily mount it at the current rack on the Fjr . Hard for me to explain but it will be easier to show it to u .

 

Take note . . . If u want to use a 48L top box , it will be too big n bulky . A 42L or 45L will be just nice ! I'm using a 42L top box .

 

For touring up nth - solo . . . Wif top box at speeds beyond 180km/h , bike will be unstable ! ( just experience it 2 wks back on my trip to koh samui)

i dun hv any base plate nor screw. had went to those shop sellin box but they told me they r unable to help me fix it cos of the existin mounted FJR rack. They can only fix up if i chg/mod the rack/mounting points.

Hence, i'm confuse how to do it or where to get it done proper.

Bro..I'm contemplating to sell off my top box c/w rack bcos I'm afraid that I might wanna use it in future. If u r interested n might wanna see how e rack looks like perhaps u wanna drop by n take look...I've dismantled e rack n box from my bike n my room is messy! Hee...

Where n how much did u got for the rack?

Mayb i'll check out urs tis wkend or when u guys plan for a meet up other days *but me shy shy* :p

My usual travel speed wld b ard 180 on NSHW, so hopefully the top box won't affect the stability... Otherwise add "wing" on top of top box! LOL

If thats really the case, i think he kenna carrot leh... My titanium cost me $1500. I think Aluminium is about $1300 only.

where got new bike bro...still on my beloved fjr...hehe...anyway, no need change pipe lah..how fast want the bike to go..fast enough already..i'll be looking for suspension in a few months. must change that first on my 14.
