Bro, infd by HL I'm the one n only having this problem...I guess sway la...overall, it's a good bike.. Just that I can't convince my wife to sit (can ask some buddy here who went riding together) and also due to family planning, so downgrade... Cheers!

 

Anybody who get my bike, I can tell you the history of it...but I think is a Malay owner in his late 30s or early 40s.

Care to share what your friend saw on the GTR that changes his mind to give up his FJR?

 

No words can describe wat he saw bro but to summarize it in short, 2 of us (me n my buddy) headed to Pattaya in Oct last yr after a mth i acquire Akira.. 2 separate incidents in Thailand involving local motorcyclist n big lorry (IF it happens, its either FATAL or i wud b seriously injured) had convinced him that e technology in tis machine works :) ..

Some, in my position wud proudly say that they r skillful n e bike works.. But for me, my skill is "borrowed" from HIM n its The Almighty God that i thanked to for answering ours as well as our love ones prayers i.e for both me n my buddy to b safe in our journey.. As for Akira, she still have imperfection in her n only i, as her owner knows :)

what GTR can do? other then the so called vvti , traction control and keyless wad else? i still believe the current yamaha technology is good enough for a tourer.

 

pls enlighten us on the what the GTR can do.

so u might be refering to the ABS or ?

To each on his own bro :) .. As how e Fjr owners r happy with their ride, so m i :) ... To know what a GTR can do, u have to ride n experience it.. Words cnt describe e feelings :) .. The only thing that i will NEVER do is to mod her like how some other owners did to theirs coz to me - if its good, dun change anything, else i wud regret it :)

Both ABS n Traction control had come "Alive" during part of e journey.. As for e above incident, i'll say its e bike as a whole.. Handling, posture, braking power/distance etc..

Wah bro, since when i "keep saying its good" ? My 1st posting in this thread is sometime back in Aug last yr to ask for opinions on Fjr from e Fjrians here n only recently this month i started to post again here n none of my post/s indicates me saying what u quoted.. So please get ur facts rite..

Whatever the bike is ur riding, it depends on ur riding style, how u handle it and how BIG ur balls are.

I've ridden the FJR for a good 3.5 yrs where it was maximized fully thru out and and i've too tested hard the GTR. Overall personally if u ask me, its the SAME.. The only extra thing abt the GTR is its wonderful Traction Control. Other than that, its both speed based.

If both can hit above 240km and even till 280km/h wat more can u ask for..

 

In terms of weight, both are abt the same. When its heavy, u know its heavy..

Ride it, Enjoy it cos these are sports tourers and they are BOTH beasts on the beast on the road.

Wouldn't want to mess with u guys.. Chill!

@ kasky - That's y i said u nd to ride to know.. I dun go for speed coz i had enuf on my previous ride..wat im looking for is touring comfort... Rode my buddy's Fjr b4 n i prefer GTR coz of e way e gear n brake foot lever r positioned.. Preferred e sitting posture for Gtr which is more incline compared to Fjr which is more upright (again it varies depending on rider's height etc.)... Never ride 'hard' or test top speed on tis bike coz that's not e purpose i chose tis bike for (but if e situation calls for it, then i might unleash e beast :) ).. As for now, im juz in my own world when riding my Akira :) ...

 

N of coz e wonderful Traction Control that u mention, it is indeed wonderful in a slippery road conditions :) ..
