My bike ignition is spoilt. The wire was found burnt and the cost to replace it is $1700!

Cos the ignition only comes in a set which consist of ignition, ECU, fuel cap, seat lock and 2 lock for side box.

Anyone encounter this before? Where got a cheaper solution?

Juz for sharing... During major servicing when fairings/tank need to b removed, take tis opportunity to check for any exposed/cut/loose/crack wires... Tape/retape if necessary... :)

Which part of the wire is burnt? Per the diagram, the ignition switch assy comes by itself.

I'm not sure where exactly burnt. Bikeshop uncle tell me. I think must change the whole ignition with new set of keys... Not sure that the part PN 5PS-82501-10-00 consist of wad. I go back home and use computer to check tonight.

That PN is only the ignition switch bro. Yamaha isn't so stupid to design like what the bikeshop uncle say. In any case, the ignition switch couples to the main harness. I don't see why the ECU got to change. The pannier locks and fuel caps are purely mechanical locks. I don't even need to check the parts list to tell you that they are entirely separate parts. May I know which shop is that?

its planet motor. not only the bikeshop said it comes in a set, hong leong also said the same thing. they cannot sell it seperately is bcos the item does not have part number for itself. i find it stupid also.

just came back from the shop. he say need to change the ignition switch. wad omnilash quote the part number is correct, PN 5PS-82501-10-00. Thank you very much. :)
