hi guys.. im looking at a FJR at bike production.. number plate FBB100K.. anyone knows any history about the bike?

Bruddas, quite a few of you use the Pelican type of rear box. Is it lockable? I understand its waterproof, but how secure is it? From a model I saw on a bike, it did not appear to be lockable, and also seemed like can be unscrewed from the bracket and taken away fairly easily. Any advice/feedback?

 

hi fuzz, long time no see! u back on the fjr? im using the pelican on my connie. it's lockable, albeit using your own lock. but it depends on the individual. i do not lock mine, because it's so secure it's quite hard to open itself. except when on tour of course. also i do not park at 'unsecured' areas so risk level for me is quite low.

I know FJR have a mainstand liao..just glad to have bump into this..

Hello everyone. Just wanted to say i have just joined u guys in becoming a fjr owner. Just some qns for all u experienced owners to help out with:

 

U guys have a problem turning the key in the ignition? Cos mine needs alot of fiddling around before i unlock, start, off and unlock again. Sprayed some wd40, alot of dirt but any other solution?

Also, anyone has a blurry lcd screen? there's some condensation in there too, but can i get it cleaned or replaced?

Lastly, if my main stand can be heard knocking once i go over a hump, issit too loose or the bike too low?

Its an 03 model, thus all the wear n tear. Thank u to anyone who can advise.

 

Ps: wtb 2ndhand gps system, Garmin preferred. and rear box with back rest.
