U guys have a problem turning the key in the ignition? Cos mine needs alot of fiddling around before i unlock, start, off and unlock again. Sprayed some wd40, alot of dirt but any other solution?

If you have the original key, get it duplicated. Sometimes the duplicates ain't very perfect. WD40 is the best choice. An ignition switch cost about 100+ if you really can't live with this prob.

Also, anyone has a blurry lcd screen? there's some condensation in there too, but can i get it cleaned or replaced?

Mine too. Happens on the 8th year of ownership and it only gets worse. But its something I can live with.

Lastly, if my main stand can be heard knocking once i go over a hump, issit too loose or the bike too low?

Its an 03 model, thus all the wear n tear. Thank u to anyone who can advise.

You sure its the main stand and not the exhaust? Try increasing the preload of your rear suspension and compression damping of the front.

Ps: wtb 2ndhand gps system, Garmin preferred. and rear box with back rest.

Other solution for fiddling key would be using 'Singer' oil. It last longer than WD40. Most of the time its not the keyhole, its the key. Most of us would accessively turn the key when open our fuel tank..causing the key to be a lil crooked.

Mainstand won't be loosen easily. It could be ur tyre pressure & suspension setting. Do check it out yah.

Hi, long time didnt post here.

Just to post a problem I had yesterday with my bike pannier box.

The outer shell drop out and left hanging while I ride due to the adhesive tar had loose it sticking abilities.

Now I am hunting for this type of adhesive tar to glue it back.

It's been 9 years that this bike is with me, so brothers out there please look out for this problem if your bike is about this age.

Get some adhesive tar to prepare for such embarrassing situation or at least carry a roll of strong tape for such "emergency".

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Hi Bro Omnislash,

I tried to find tar adhesive today but cannot find any at DIY shop, think have to search at hardware shop.

Bought two rolls of Scotch permanent outdoor mounting tape to try, hope it works.

you still keeping your FJR?

I am keeping my FJR for another 10 years just in case it is too expensive to extend my car COE

guess maybe its just some wiring problem..... hmmm maybe i have to heat strink all the bare wires to prevent water from going in during a bike wash ???

As with most other bikes, u have to replace the entire meter assy. Unless you can find a 2nd hand one.

Also, where can i go get the ignition replaced?

Its quite a simple task. Bench drill can help out in this case. Doesn't require special tools. But you need to replace the mounting bolts...
