if i'm not wrong, the category changes when ur 30 yrs old... Means that u got one more yr to go.. So u dun really have to resort to asking other pple to be the first rider..

If u really want to, anyone with a class 2 license can be the first rider.. But means that the person will be the legal owner of the bike.. So u must find someone u can trust..

I agree.. As for the bike insurance is pretty high as compare to car premium. NCB entitlement is only recongnise up till 20% max.

Once you exceed 30 years of age, premium for bikes drops by S$100 -S$200 plus. (Provided you have the min.NCB)

In my 2 cents worth opinion, register the bike under your name lor.

itz a brand new '05 model FJR.

1st day i took it out from the shop... i find the steering very weird liao... tot i not used to the bike initially... after a few times.. realise the bike is constantly veering to one side....

Went back HL, Went back 3 times... 1st time ,They balance my front tyre... no improvement wotsoever.. 2nd time, they adjusted my front wheels to COUNTER the problem... thus front/back wheel misaligned... my bike becomes humpty dumpty, handling condition worse den before....

3rd time push for 2days... ask me come down... said they recitfy nothing 'coz my bike's in tip-top condition :sian: i still feel they hvn adjusted back my front wheels..... initially they insisted it was all due to the rider... i was freakin pissed, as i paid alot for a high-performance bike and the blame it on me... Seller blaming the customer for defective product..

So i took it to 2 other well-known bike shops... ask the mechanic to test it for me(without telling them wotz the probz). Both said the bike was veering...

So i went back to HL the 4th time.... and talk to the manager... he said will look into it... and decided to change my triple clamps. But on what basis... they never mentioned... hope they change the steering cone tog... coz mine like ultra loose and they said itz tighten to the MAX!

But will it rectify the probz? wot if the probz still persist? What are they gona do about it? I'm working part-time now.. every time spend at HL im loosing $$ n precious time... so the 4th time i insisted a replacement bike... n they gave mi a YBX 125cc... the bike is screaming to kill me at onli 80kmph... i wanted to die liao... :help:

Looking at the price we paid for a high-performance bike.... low speed needz to constantly adjust.... but at high speed... my FJR becomes like a snake.... the steering.. the wheels like kena butter.... cannot control it.... and itz onli betw the 140kmph-200kmph range.... Dun tell mi a 1300cc high performance sports touring bike canot travel above 140kmph in stable n controlled condition....

So u tell me my feelings.... sighh :weep:

Will be going back tiz week.. for the 5th time...

Can try out Bike & Scooter, the boss quite knowledgeable about FJR too.

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

AshenZ, FJR should be very stable at high speed, I did 180Kmh with my side panniers and top box on, the only problem I have is the wind buffeting.

I did not go higher speed because of wind problem only, the FJR is still pulling hard, in fact it is just warm up and have plenty to go.

Hopes you solve your bike problem fast so that you can enjoy your bike fully.

Better make an appointment with them first, their workshop is small, at

any one time they can only service/repair two bikes.

I have never service at Ah Boy before, but I would not want someone to open my bike's bolts & nuts with a pliers instead of a right size spanner.

Cheap can sometimes be good but most of the time cheap can means more repeat jobs and worries.

For me I prefer to pay a bit more to have peace of mind.

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.
