Metzeler Z4, cost me $450 with balancing :lovestruck:

Just wanted to try something different as recommanded in the manual

It doesn't make any difference whether a motorcyclist has the right-of-way or not, the rider is the one most likely to get hurt.

Z4 is the stock tyre for earlier models which is mine..

Not trying to be a wet blanket.. But i was ice skating ard with that tyre..

It lasted me 20,000km.. (i'm a soft rider)

With that price, u could get a michellin pilot road.. Those lasted me 28,000km not forgeting that i rider harder than when i just got the bike..

Anyway, maybe that tyre will suit u.. Update us on the performance ya..

Biting on the fray of my hair, I muse upon the way to find the oasis of evermore beyond the vertical horizon, I shall join the windupdeads in owl city, neither my safetysuit nor my red jumpsuit apparatus can save me, cuz I mistook a death cab for cutie in plain white T's...

What do you mean by ice skating around?

You mean the grip of the tyres is not good? Slippery?

And it lasted you 20,000km means the tyres wears out faster than normal? even though when you do not ride it hard?

I thought a fast wearing tyre have better grip?

coudlnt agree less on that, the rear have a tendency to slip when u go down low & hard....Z4s were the stock tyres on my bike.

lasted me abt 15,000km then changed to Diablo corsa, a much better performance tyre i should say which costed me $420 with balancing.

Btw, with $450 you could have got yourself a pair of Z6 which personally i think a much better choice than Z4.

just take it easy on those Z4s.....

Thanks for your advice vara and omnislash, will take note of your feedback

BTW I only wish to have a tyre that provide very good grips in dry and wet weather conditions. Don't mind the tyre mileage though. 15,000km is good enough for me, safety more important than $$

I was recommended a pair of "Pirelli" when I ask for Z4, did not want to take risk because I never read about that brand and model in the Internet before.

Well, will try some other brand next time. :weep:

Go real slow from now on

if im not wrong...

u were offered a pirelli diablo strada by southern right????

Currently one of our fellow rider, Rahman, is using it.... feedback from him is dat handling quite good... grip good for both wet n dry.... high speed very smooth... paid ard $430 if im not wrong....

Been asking a few bike shops on the review of the Strada.... seems the mechanics comment it be the up n coming model for sport tourers.... good grip n mileage... high speed stability.....

I would hv to stick to BT020R... suits moi pockets more....

Z4 n Z6 were said to be extremely low mileage... the tyre wear seems to be rather ridiculous... not to say high on price....

hehe..... on my list now is BT020R, Pirelli diablo Strada and juz mentioned by Vara... Diablo Corsa alos not bad???

So how chung.. wotz ur choice~!

hey guyz...

Yah... the blue FJR which got rammed badly was me... Din wan too much people to know....

Me and my pillion escaped with minor injuries.... compared to the damages on my bike n on the bloody proton wira...

Was waiting for green light @ the traffic junction in GP town nearest to Petronas... was on the way to Tian Lai for dinner with a bunch of NTU riders....

I went ahead myself as the group was big... wana go get tables n parking space to facilitate the rest..

Who knowz this proton wira came from behind... headlight not on.... speeding.. probz ard 100kmph..... tink he E-brake onli 10m away.... car tyres screech n fish-tailed.... he din even try to swerve....

Rammed right into my rear straight on.... i, my pillion n bike flew..... we landed in front of the car... but the bike was ard 2-3m away on the other side of the road.... :weep:

the rest was all in a blur..... bike in quite a bad shape... though still can ride.. but dunoe for how long... tyres abit cracked it seems.... sigh.... no $$ now... dunoe how to pay for damages 1st....

Claim on msia car gona take quite awhile.. n dun even know how much can be claimed.... now juz walk ard with swollen arm... whole body aching..... like living hell... super bad luck... :giddy:

Super duper suay..... sighh..... :nono: bike was just 6mths old on dat day... juz renewed road tax.... now....

So sorry to hear about your accident, hope you and your gf have a speedy recovery.

Lucky that your injuries was minor, $$ spend not a problem, still can ride another day.

A lot of arse holes driving on the road without switching on their head lights these days, must be extra careful of our back.

Gee...

At least both rider and pillion are relatively ok.

Why are people who ride motorcycles called bikers and people who ride bikes called cyclists?
