hi guys, got a few questions.. hope you guys can enlighten me.

1. Average temp of bike? Mine went up to 101-103 today. Fan on. Hot weather ,heavy traffic. Normal?

2. 1300(clock by previous owner) mileage now, using mineral oil. Adviseable max speed/rpm ? Or i can whack the bike already haha... or i continue run in? Max speed for run in?

3. I do not need to clutch in my bike to start. Normal? Thought all class 2 need clutch in..

4. Whats the Correct temp to warm up bike to before i can ride off?

1. no average temp, depends on whether your bike is running or stationary.

If stationary it will go up to 100degrees and your fan will come on. big bikes heat up fast.

2. change your engine oil another time and break in slowly moving up 1000rpm every 500km starting from 5000rpm. change again when at 5000rpm to synthetic and take it all the way. try not to play throttle so much when breaking in. maintaining rpm and regularity of throttle play allows the engine to work under less stress. bursting runs not advisable when running in.

3. Clutch in to start or not depends on which bike and which model. most Jap bikes dont need to clutch in to start.

4. 70 degrees is about right. remember not to burst on a cold engine. work it up slowly. it will warm up very fast for big bikes

LAst but not least, especially if this is your first powerful bike, be mindful not to open throttle as though it's a low powered bike or your front end will come up and you will be doing a wheelie you dont want. get to know your own riding capabilities and the bikes capabilities before gunning it.

yoz throttle. Thanks for your reply.

hmm i had read the manual.

Distance traveled -----------------------Maxium engine speed

0~800km -------------------------------4,000 r/min (rpm)

800~1,600km --------------------------6,000 r/min (rpm)

The above is from the manual. The 5000km break in you mention is better for singapore traffic user?

Total mileage by previous owner 1300km already. I guess he already whack the bike before he sold it? haha. What should i do? Continue to run in? By e way i'm using mineral oil.

Yup, bought it from loois.

Eh guys.. my paint is those matt type. How to maintain it? Still use those liquid wax for laquear paint?

The 5000km break in lileage is for traditional bikers like me .

Nowadays many engines are semi factory run in so no need to do the 5000km ritual anymore. so far i have no chance to ram my Z1000 pass 9000rpm yet.

I'm a slow rider mostly under 90km/hr in Singapore....leisure ride only
