really?? recently someone from the forum reported thier RVF Fuel Tank kenna stolen...forgot who liao.

Few days back, one of our teammates here kenna the same thing too. What the hell is wrong with these bloody thieves? Got $$ buy RVF, no $$ buy parts/repair. :nono:

One rvfian i know got 7-8 deep scratches on his fuel tank just parking at his carpark.

Guys.... try to cover our bikes whenever we park at home. No matter how leh-cheh.

Out-of-sight, Out-of-mind. Would-be thieves and pranksters would be detered to some degree if your bikes are covered up.

For those who are looking for alternatives to ordering RVF parts besides FJT, can try here

http://www.mugen571.com/

This is the guy I ordered my engine casing a while back ago if you remember. Definitely trustworthy. You can find any OEM parts you'll ever need. There're a lot of other stuff there as well.

If we can come up with mass orders or mix n matches, it'll definitely save on the freighting costs.

E.g, the NGK ER10EH Spark Plugs at US$10 each for more than 8 per order. Comes up to ard S$17 each. Dunno how much it costs here. If more pple order, than freight costs divided among more pple, each pay lesser.

if i were to take the digital speedo meter from an R1 or Cbr1000,will it be possi to fit it to our bike?

Old Sheep,

cannot la... The ones on CBR1000 or R1 cannot use on RVF..u know y? coz thier meters are electrically driven by sensors from thier rpm and sprockets which we dun have.

If u see RVF's meters are all mechanically driven by cable and not electrical wires.

Besides a CBR1000/R1 meter will cost a bomb!

if u really want... look at the older Aprilia 250s meter. They are digital and mechanically driven...might have a chance becoz i saw one Sonic125 fit before!

RVF400s were never officially imported into Europe from what i know.

But many were parallel imported so that would mean the specs they have is what we have here coz all are from Japan.

But from what i read, some European NC30s (VFR400) have oil cooler piping which which we dun have coz its only used in cold countries.

There is no ONE derestriction that can allow u to have more HP/TOPEND

nonsense.

OEM RVFs are restricted in HP and In speed.

rvfs are restricted to 53HP in many ways. Your engine internals, the airbox and the stock exhaust system. upgrade the above to HRC items and viola, u get a higher HP output.

Speed restriction is in the speedo. Inside yr meter is a cam shape disc connected to the speedo needle. when the meter turns to 180KMPH, the cam disc inside will make contact with a 'switch' and sends a signal to yr CDI telling it to cut off ignition to 2 of your cylinders. thaz y u will never get pass 180 if u dun derestict ur bike.

i say repeat again for the countless times ah, removing the speed restriction dun give you a horsepower increase.

hi guys...just got my RVF...got some questions to ask...newbie here, so pardon me k :cheeky:

1)for those with voltmeter, wat should be the correct voltage reading when at idle? mine is 11V when not started, 12V+ engine running at idle and ard 14V at 5k rpm...is it correct? i suspect my rec is gone liao cause the brightness of the headlight varies considerably with thorttle movment...

2)last time my temp hit ard 3/4 like that...after that came back...found coolant leak on the floor, near side stand there...is it normal? my friend say it's because the reserve coolant is fill too much liao...??

3)lastly, i intend to upgrade the front disc rotors to wavy disc and maybe change the calipers to SP1/2 type...anyone done this b4? or know where got lobang in singapore?

thks a lot for any help! :smile

Nope. Not anyone around here. The rvfians here are kind, gentle and very safe one...

Care to share what happened?

there is this matt black fp6543 rvf who stop and parked his bike just after sg custom where they checked ur bags and box.he parked there and was siting on his bike chatting on the phone.

i was riding a ta200 on that day and had to open my box for inspection.after the inspection i pushed my bike to the parking bay ahead which was desgined for ppl to close up their box and packed up their bags.i saw him there chatting and i carry on to close my box.den u shouted at me "helo" in a very rude manner and act like a gangster.it was becos my bike was blocking his bike...he should not be parking his bike there and chatting on his cell phone.after which i closed my box immediately and moved off asap.

at BKE, he sped pass me at high speed around 150km/hr(as i was traveling abt 100km). and he was super close to me when he overtook me.

i find him very unreasonable and very dangerous rider on the road.
