Hi All

Noticed this thread is pretty quiet. I'm looking for a 2A bike, and am considering either 400X or the Suzuki GSR400. Seems both are suitable for city and highway riding, both look much better than the Super Four, and both are relatively rare on the roads.

I've only seen both bikes a only handfull of time ( but I saw a whole group of 400X at Changi Village after midnight last Saturday. Looks like a 400X club or something like that).

The GSR 400s are mostly 2008, so have only 3 years left on the COE, but they are of course much cheaper. The 400X cost around 14K used and around 20-21K new. I intend to go for my Class 2 next year though, and will likely upgrade but I can live with the current 2A bike for a few years. This will be a weekend bike, since I drive for my regular transportation needs.

Any comments to help me decide?

For people who are looking to find accessories such as crash bar, tank bar, handguard etc, there is is this place called Tok Kong Motor (TKM) aka Belwin motors that sells them, if anyone of you wanting to find a 400x group, there is a group on FB that is called SG400X.

@chriszzz, if you are going to own a 400x for a few years, I would rather you look for a 2nd hand, 400x 2nd hand are coming out. I do not know much about suzuki gsr 400 so I cannot help you much on it but 400x definitely have the look and handling, if you are talking about power wise, do not expect much from the 400x. It is only a parallel twin, the feeling I get from 400x is that it is more towards a torque bike as towards the low range RPM, I change my gears at around 2.5k-3k rpm with no problem, very fuel efficient especially cruising at constant speed. There are group meet up almost every week for the SG400X group.

Hope this helps for anybody who has question.

I find it odd that the 400X is quite popular, but almost nobody has the 400F. Strange. I've been googling and searching this forum. No one seems to have the 400F and none on the 2nd hand market either.
