ya ,..it's a must to check for leak ..=) make sure nothing is leaking out from the seal....rust is inevitable though on the spring ..but no oil should be leaking out

alternatively, u may wanna consider buying a new gazi shock n keep ur showa as a spare shock... price is not more than $300. shd b ard the price of rebuilding ur shock.

new aftermarket shocks depending on brands... gazi shocks is on the low side. bitubo shocks r on the slightly high side... if get stock showa shocks, its on the super high side...
