If those rust spots are very near to the seals, it will cut the seals when your forks compress and cause leakage. Try to remove the rust spots using fine grit sand paper (#600 or above) I heard autosol can lift some not so serious rust spots too.

If the rust spots are serious and formed tiny pits at the region near to the seals, you might want to consider replacing the inner fork tubes.

need help fr S4 brader...how to adjust 'gantung' to make it stiffer?..clockwise or anti-clockwise?...me riding PB1..i feel de 'gantung' is soft

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c340/das583/pic3782.jpg
Posted

Trial & Error method:

Click to the extreme clockwise, sit on the bike to test the dampers.

Next, click to the extreme anti-clockwise and test the dampers.

If your dampers are working fine, you should notice the difference between the settings.

Set to your preferred setting from here. Fix or replace your dampers if neccessary.

The extension tat makes the bike higher...

1) Will it affect cornering cos of the height? ---- i felt abit unstable, still need advise...

2) Will it damage the chain? ----maybe cos saw my chain in bad condition, still need advise...

3) Will it damage the swing arm? ----not sure need advise....???

4) Uncomfortable for pillion to sit? ----i think so....:cheeky:

i was told by the mech to removed the extension cos it will affect alot of problems so he took it out. the extension is still with mi... feel like putting it back cos low low very funny lei..:giddy:

1) it'll affect corner as it may your rear higher, thus higher centre of gravity, less stable..

2) damage chain, i dun think so, unless when chain travel hit that thing constantly..

3) it'll may damage the mounting to your suspension?? maybe..

4) cant comment on this, maybe can ask your pillion?

try not to use it, becuz you dunno how much torque the bracket can 'tahan'.. if it give way while you are cornering.. ermm..

this extension is made of aluminium?

if your suspension is very soft, try adjusting the preload higher.. if still cannot, maybe you wanna bring your suspensions for rebuild or maybe consider a pair of aftermarkets..

I hope it helps..
