I loved to ride a fairing bike but there is no more production for RVF and babyblade. Cause I prefer first hand. So no choice to go for Super four, even though I like naked bikes. Ppl says the super four is the best for maintenance and resale value. So I would like to know your choice of bike from the above. Thanks for polling.

You prefer 1st hand so no choice? You mean all your bikes all 1st hand? You rich la dei.

Super 4 isn't the best for 'maintainence and resale' la. Super 4's maintainence is the same as any other inline 4. Resale value for other bikes like RVF and CBR is good too.

If you wanna talk about best 'maintainence and resale', compare with bikes that you never include in poll, ie the vtwins. Shadow 400, Steed 400, SV400s. 2 bottles of engine oil, 2 spark plugs...I dunno about the rest but my previous SV400s gave me at least 25km/l for fuel consumption, which beats a super 4 especially when you open vtech.

Metalfyre.... Actually i dont mind second hand but i dont know how did the previous owner maintained the bike (unless u get from a friend that u know well). B'cause of this problem it will lead to a lot of problems and need to bring out the money so i prefer first hand la...

If your dream bike is a Class 2, just skip Class 2A. Can save some $$ for the big one.

Hmm, dude. A lot of 2nd hand bikes have been abused. This does not mean that all 2nd hand bikes are abused. If you know how to assess, or have a friend who does, then it's easy to spot a good bike from a lemon. All my 2nd hand purchases no problem. And all my bikes are 2nd hand with the exception of my phantom. The amount of money you lose on depreciation once you sign the dotted line for a 1st hand bike can easily finance the repairs on a trashed up 2nd hand bike in any case. Not to mention the immediate price difference on your 1st and 2nd hand bike.

Sportsbikes can equal or surpass a S4's FC if the S4 open vtec. My friend got 25km/l on his CBR400. My SV went as high as 28km/l. Go touring with S4, my bike always pump the least petrol everytime we stop.

If you want to enjoy fuel economy on a S4, you maintain 80km/h everywhere you go lor. If you can tahan that speed everyday, then s4's FC might be better.

I wouldn't exactly say S4 has the BEST resale value, but it is indeed one of the easier bikes to resell and still fetch a reasonable price. That is easily understood just by looking at the vast number of S4s out there And ofcourse, if you do not mind abit of "identity crisis". :p

1st hand bikes are generally the way to go if you have some extra cash. You get to know how the bike exactly performs from a brand new condition as opposed to an old bike with some weird noises which you might dismiss as 'normal'.

Guess VTwins are more petrol friendly than inline 4s.

My VTwin is clocking about 23~25km/l, which is at least equal or better than an S4... I was pleasantly surprised :cheer: My normal riding speeds would be about 80~110kmh, with the engine speed at about 2000~3200rpm (redline is at 6500rpm)

The instructor at CDC told my friend that an XJR would be easier n cheaper to maintain than a S4, since it doesn't have VTEC.

I think it depends on the tuning.

My SP-1(VTR1000) only had about 11~13km/litre, my R1 gives me about 18km/litre. SP-1 V-twin engine, R1 inline 4, both 998cc. Big diffeerreeeeennnnccceeeeeeeee.
