Hi,

As per topic. I am riding a Spec 1 with valid road tax but I don't want to put my road tax disc because it spoils the outlook of my bike.

 

Is it an offence if I never display it?

What about if I keep the disc INSIDE my box and if I kena stop by TP, I just take out and show them?

Dun worry la.. So long u have the disc with u, Everything is ok...Be it inside ur box or u use it for keychain.. TP normally wont ask for ur road tax.. They will normally ask u for ur Ic and driving license.. And sometimes insurance..

Like that is u suay la.. hahaa.. I last time also ride sp.. But none ask for my road tax or insurance.. Only ask me why i Mod my pipe.. hahaha.. Luckily i give excuses, if not 500 bucks will be donated to goverment liao..

I scared he stop me and since my bike is fully stock, he nothing to catch and start to pick on all these minor stuff.

One call on their radio to their home base.... they will know everything about you... not just whether you paid your road tax or not.

 

I carry my road tax clipped to my insurance papers. I don't even display the season parking coupon. The auntie just key in your bike number into the pad she is carrying... she will know instantly if you have paid for the month.

i never bring my insurance, road tax or season parking.. if asked upon i say i left it a home.. they make a quick check and let me go..

I was riding kr during midnight, fetch my fren hm. i dun haf driving license. kena road blk, the tp ask mi go where i say go fetch my fren hm then i go hm sleep, the tp let mi pass. nv even check my license or ic. if not i die .

seldom will ask to show ins.. as when asked to show roadtax is enuf, as ins must be valid longer than roadtax can go.

I took out the entire display disc after reading this post, since I don't even chance the piece of paper inside the disc, why even put it. :cheeky:

normally i bring my insurance and my ownership..

 

i lost my road tax.

 

should a ROV officer ask me wer is it..i just say someone stole my round disc with my road tax in it.. alwaysput a different screw sumwer so u can tell the TP tat u had to get anther screw..normall werks for me.

 

they will just say.."try to get another copy"

 

next time wun be just a warning.

Yes. In the book stated, you can fine for $30.

 

Dont take thing for granted, if the TP want to funny with you, they can still give you a ticket.

I got stopped by rov once , when he asked me for my road tax , i just took it out from my wallet (i keep my road tax in wallet) , he nv say anything.

 

my friend once forgot to bring his road tax , and got stopped at a road block and was asked for his road tax , when he said he forgot to bring , they just radio back to dont know where , to verifie if he has one.

He didnt get fined , and was just told to have his road tax with him all the time.

Re-printing of roadtax $10+ man.

Can cite that as a reason thus u usu keep it with u. Be it in ur wallet or etc, as long as when asked to show, u can produce it is safe enough.

make tinks easier for uncle sammies lah. u gif them trouble by making them hafin to radio back n wait for the results, they may find other trouble for u.

 

wat i do is tat fold my rd tax small n nice, laminate n punch a hole on the extra plastic n screw it behind my no plate (so much flatter tan rd tax disc). after tat can forget abt it le cuz its almost unoticeable. when uncle sammies wanna c, juz turn it out tan can c le.

 

u gif them less trouble, they gif u less trouble. agree? :smile:

Not a problem. I always keep it in the glove compartment of my bike. They have a record of your particulars, insurance & road tax details so they will rarely ask for your road tax disc.

Hahaha i spoke too soon, as i was leaving orchard yesterday got a huge road block. They asked for my license and insurance. According to the TP if u dont bring your insurance or roadtax they CAN issue u a ticket for u to report to a police post for investigations. But luckily that TP was a nice guy around my age he said "Next time dont forget to bring"

 

If your afraid of losing the original juz carry a photocopy of it. Keep a few copies incase get wet and tears up in ure wallet. For me i NEVER EVER carry the original.

i kena caught three times, august 06, december 06 and january 07 (1 day after my 2A). all three times, same pice: $50
