I used to have a flame point ragdoll briefly, but he bit/scratched my brother too much. So my brother gave him away to his friend.

if get cat too old u wun know if it has experience some terror handling before

which will make it not trust human hands anymore.

my xiao hei and his girlfriend xiao bai~

 

both are strays living at my void deck... i try to feed them regulary~ both quite "dao", they only respond to very few (less than 5) people's call... xiao hei escorts me to the lift when i go home at night~ and sits there watching the door close...

Hey guys..

 

My female tortoiseshell Comot was neutered when she was 5 months old. Now arr... sometimes she wanders out in the corridors and picks a fight with any other cat that crosses her path.

 

At first I tot she's the one who kena bully... but I saw her once.. the other cat retreated, then she went into full attack mode! She was all claws and fur. Mental!

 

This is the first time I saw a female cat as territorial as this.

 

My relatives, on the other hand, had their tomcats neutered and they all turned into big fat lazy gayboys that are easily scared.

I had both my cats neutered, male n female, when they were 1yr old plus. This was as advised by the previous owner, a kindly old lady who has 20 cats in her condo, whom we adopted from.

 

I heard of cats who went 'mental' or lazy after bein neutered too, but fortunately both my cats didn't exhibit any different behaviour before and after the procedure. Could it be due to the age of the cat when it was neutered? These are the first 2 cats that we had neutered, so I'm not sure.

I had one puree yellow called "NING" and one incredibly smart white, brown & black furred Persian with white feets called "COMEL" in 1988.

 

The white and black one (Comel) was lonely cos we bought him first. Got em a playmate. They knocked it off almost instantly after like 15 mins of glaring at each other. Chasing each other every single day when they wake up. Running up the cupboard lah, tv lah, into the kitchen sink lah (once my mom cooked asam pedas and was soaking the utensils in the sink and while they were playing catching (or whatever u call games these beautiful animals play), Comel had nowhere to run and climbed onto the sink, and accidentally dipped his feets into the pots and thus, got orange colored 'socks'.

 

One day, as usual, their routine, chasing the hell out of each other, Comel, being the enthusiastic one, was 'cornered' near the window. He jumped on the ledge, lost balance and fell to his death.

 

He was awfully smart. When he had to wee wee or poo poo or even when he wanna vomit, he'd race all the way to the toilet bowl and does his biz. Even my dad who was not so keen on Comel cos he don really like animals in the house, fell in love with the boy and started buying those expensive food for him and even handfed Comel whenever he returned home from work. When I was down, he'd just 'chill' with Ning at one corner of the house, as tho he knows his master is depressed and told his friend that he don't wanna play... sigh...

 

My late mom bought Ning a playmate to replace the late Comel. Called him Boy. Pure white Persian as well.

 

They couldnt get along well at all after a few mths cos somehow, after I bathed them, Boy just refused to acknowledge Ning anymore cos he smelled differently. Got very terrotially violent. Fighting every single day till mom decided to separate em both Ning went to a distant relatives house whilst we kept Boy.

 

Couple of years later, mom passed away. She had bone cancer. Boy was the 'transition' love I had for mom and I held him so dearly since then.

 

Back in 2003, one night, Boy meowed very coarsely. Thereafter, he just don wanna eat nor drink and would meow at me sadly everytime he sees me.

 

I got very scared cos there was a lump on his jaw.

 

Bought him to the vet. Was diagnosed with bone cancer. Vet gave me a choise of either ending Boy's suffering by putting him to sleep or watch him die a painful death from hunger and thirst.

 

I had to do the obvious. I remembered weeping like a kid in front of everyone at the animal hospital. Was all alone at that time.

 

Somehow, the last gift from mom is now gone forever...

 

Treasure your beautiful animals guys. I regretted not spending enough time when I got enlisted into NS back then and entered working world.

 

He was the apple of my eye...
