sata drive is tricky. yes.

The trick is connect it to channel 01 first. Sata connector got channel 00 and 01.

Change back to channel 00 only when you have dinished install all the mobo drivers.

Geez... I haven't tried this method b4.. Will try.. Thanks! I've tried almost all other ways such as diabling raid rom, hitting F6 and insert floppy, doen't just quite work for me.. Damn.. Maybe I missed out something.. ha

Gonna give yr method a try soo.. Cheers!

Heyz,

Managed to changed my spark plug today bro. Anyway, I did not have a chance to get the additional sleeve onto the bracket of the exhaust pipe as the bolt is on too tight, and I might need to go down to Tai Hin to ask them to loosen it for me.

As for the suspension extension, I have'nt had the time to get it milled/ and put on, he he, I lazy lahz...

So, when is our track day? He he, tell me a week before, I wanna get my belt/ rollers changed first...

Welcome to the group Gilera fan, nice to have another "DNA" here, as for maintaining your bike, just make sure you follow the guides in the "operators manual" of the DNA 180, or just back track through this thread.

As for the 12V dc charger, most hard ware and auto repair shops would sell them, that is where I got mine, as for the voltmeter, I reccommend 219 shop along Jalan Besar. But I bought my voltmeter in Thailand for 200 baht, or less then $10. But it was the old auto guage, Randy's auto guage is the new one and it looks alot better.

By the way, what color is your DNA? I hope it is not blue!!!!!!!!!!

oh yeah, i have my own favourite gilera dna...i juz got it for 2 months, u noe, juz got licence n i aim for this bike long time already.

Hey guys, juz to ask u all, ya all any idea if i go Piaggio fully overhaul my DNA, estimated hw much ? Piaggio hav thier own repair centre right?

Hi and welcome! How to define complete overhaul???

If you're refering to changing the piston/rings, that'll set you back around $500 (as checked out by another guy here) for the stock items.. Around $700 for the Malossi item (incl of cylinder).. But SERIOUSLY, for an FY plate DNA, I SERIOUSLY doubt it that you'll need to overhaul it!! So I'll reco that you dun waste yr $$ anyhow, and save it for future repairs/ servicing/ mods/ upgrades!

As for the rest of the stuffs that you SHOULD probably consider changing is maybe (with rough est of price):

• Engine Oil ($16)

• Oil filter ($ oops I forgot how much I usually pay)

• Belt, rollers and u-clip ($150)

• Air filter ($18 I think)

• Spark plug ($5)

• Tyres—Gold standard ($200)

Let us know yr mileage, and maybe we can reco which route to go first. That way you need not change everything at once if you can't afford.

Yes, Piaggio Service Centre. At Genting Lane area.. Is yr bike still under warranty? If not, they usually won't accept bikes that's without warranty on the excuse of having too much bikes there waiting to be serviced..

Cheers and enjoy yr ride meanwhile..

helo every1,

where to get n hw much is a 12v DC charger n voltmeter?

any tips/suggestions on hw to maintain n make riding a DNA a smooth 1?

Just maintain it well, replacing the above-mentioned consumables (when the time's right), and this bike should serve you well.. Join in the future DNA rides and you'll be able to learn more abt the bike..

Cheers

Hey guys,

Just got back from working on my DNA 180, seems like my pipe is too close to my right indicator light and suspension and there have been several knocks to it, but luckily no damage cosmetically to the pipe, erm stroker, followed your idea and placed a metal sleeve, but sadly it did not work as the bolt was not long enough, so have to get an even longer bolt, now it works fine, just got to keep an eye out to make sure the bolt does not come loose...

As for the suspension extension, the right side is too small as what you said, you still remember what diameter hole you drilled? I checked with my vernier caliper, and it should be at least 14.2mm in diameter, you said the left side no need to drill is it? He he, paiseh I forgot....

Cheers...

P.S. Got to ride really slowly for the next few days, I do not trust my workmanship...

Hmm....i guess the rider is only unhappy with the nitty gritty parts that dun really look nice...

I had this notion to overhaul the whole thing at first... cos of the ugly sight of several small parts like screws...

For eg. The screws on my front disc plates are totally rusted. Also, the big bolt connecting the head to the body of the bike is also getting rusted...supposed to be chromed...

The under of my main engine component is giving out some sort of powdery dust whenever I use my finger to rub it...like some plastic breaking up...

Haha...

Hmmm,

I had a similar problem with my bike, can u taste the white powder? If it is super sour, must be dried battery acid, I had a similar problem but after I change to dry cell everything was ok.

If I were you, I'd collect the powder and go club and sell, can call it "pixie dust", "magic powder", "the sh*t", etc.

He he he he he, I am just kidding...

But seriously my guess it is the wet cell battery??
