Not sure which model u r getting but I have got the Mesh RJays jacket at LAB for $150. The feel is nice and being mesh, it helps to keep me cool (no direct sun light) at noon time too.

I did not use this as a waterproof jacket, hence no comment on this though. :p

Hi Guys.....

Most importantly is the PRICING...

An Boy (lab) or Regina always seems to give much lower price

when u buy few pieces with your kaki.

Can look at Mass order forum for reference, some folks take from

them in bulk / small quantity.

Unless some dealers pop into this thread, I guess its going to be

cheapest there.

Hi guys thanks for the comments...

Octane :thumb:

For the price its considered a good buy.So many zip for u to put ur stuff.

Used this jacket on my thai trip, all i can say is its comfortable.Light rain no problem..heavy rain not yet try.

Pricing depends on ur bargain power.. go ask how much regina selling should be ard 170. then u go aboy talk to him say u want that jacket its cheaper to get from him.

RJays Octane jacket is suitable for everday use and touring.Certified armours gives u a secure feeling, its the minimum protection you can get on what you are paying for.Not suitable for rainy days(although there is a lining inside) Ideal use in Singapore climate here

I rate this gear 4 out of 5 (Cooling,light,many pockets & comfortable)

Hope this helps...

However expensive it is, its still cheaper than the bandages, stitches and antiseptic costs, not to mention the pain of roadburn.

My advice is, get a quality jacket within your budget, don't just get the cheapest.

I listened to myself the last time and got a quality jacket that was 2 times as expensive as what Ah Boy sells, but with features that can beat what he has, including rain resistance properties too. Needless to say, my wallet wasn't satisfied but at the end, the owner was, and is.

Nothing beats leather and titanium sliders, but we do our best.

If you compare an Rjays mesh jacket to a say, Clover one, you'll notice the differences immediately. I've been using my Alpinestars one for 4 years now, been with me to countless trips. So far so good.

The best jacket to wear is not leather, coz leather is too hot to wear in tropical singapore. Thin leather will tear easily & thick one although has more abrasion & tear resistant is simply just too hot.

The most abrasion resistant material is actually cordura & for tear resistant is kevlar interwoven with cordura. The ideal jacket is something with a mix of both cordura & mesh. Cordura at the shoulders & elbows & back, while mesh on the ribs & chest area for ventilation & cooling. Also the sewing quality plays a important role during an accident. You can tell this because the better brands will tolerate years of dumping into the washing machine, while the cheaper ones will have the sewing giving way in less than 1 year of washing.

Abrasion resistant is important during a accident when the body slides along the tar road.

Hard CE approved armour (not soft ones) is also important for impact resistant when the body is flung during an accident & landed on a hard surface. Especially important is the spine armour which is often overlooked. The hard armour must be hard & yet flexible (mostly made of polyethylene) - so that the armour will not crack on impact.

When buying a jacket, do not just look at the design or brand (no matter how famous & expensive) . Look at the specifications whether it satisfy your needs. Expensive ones can also have lousy specs depending on which model you choosing.

But bear in mind it is better to spend money on extra protections than to pay for hospital bills for treatment for broken bones & spinal injuries. Bike accidents are very common for bikers. If you ask any riders who have at least 5 years riding experience, all of them will tell you they had a bike accident before.

Well to sum ...

branding is important...

true ...

high end brands do provide better quality etc etc...

BUT frankly speaking....

I have heard n actually we all have heard oso ...

even u wear top end products when kana accidents

oso ......

it oso like wearing an arai or shoei doesnt mean tat u wont die in an accident.....

sum wear those MHR ( Like mi bo bian no $$) GPR jacket (Nt me) kana accident but survive...

at the end of the day ...

luck reari play a impt part.....

As i quote ....

little protection is better than no protection....

tat wat mesh jacket offer ...

if toking abt protection of course it racing leather lah...

but rem 2 SUPER HYDRATED yr self....

Thanks neo.....
